Nila walked through the halls, looking up and down, searching for something she didn't even know she was looking for. She felt the cold stares of people as she strode down the long hallway, the looks seeming to peirce through her skin. The names Nila was being called seemed to affect her less than the glares, but she still was fully aware of the fact that she was being made fun of under chilling breaths of high schoolers. Nila walked into class, and studied her classmates closely. Meg, freshman, loves to draw. She's been in theatre since fifth grade. Jackson, junior. Held back for two years for struggle in freshman math. Tyler, major jock, dating cheerleader Brittany, the bully. Typical. Then there's Rylee. Nila's only friend, smart, beautiful, amazing grades. The only one who's stuck by her side.
"Nila! Did you do the Chemistry homework? I can help you in home room if you didn't."
"Thanks." Nila pulled her sleeves over her hands. She wondered how Rylee could put up with her constantly quiet attitude. Rylee frowned looking upset, then spoke."I know what you are."
