He looked petrified, continuously glancing from my face to my hand which was now getting a little less painful. I nodded, signaling that I’m fine; this was followed by an awkward silence. I looked to my hand and when I looked back, he wasn’t there anymore. I turned a little more to see him standing at the counter pouring milk into my hot chocolate. He then found some squirty cream and a chocolate flake and put it on top.
‘Oh you don’t have to…’ I started but he interrupted
‘No I really do, I’m so sorry’ he said handing me the hot chocolate. It was too hot so I put it down next to me. ‘This may not be the best time since I’ve just hurt you but I’m Eddie’s mate Sonny, I’m moving in’
‘Oh right’ I remembered, I wasn’t told about this guy until earlier today. He looked me up and down and then burst out laughing. I was confused.
‘Nice onesie’ he said. Crap! I thought. I forgot I was wearing this! Awkward…
I just laughed it off although I was insanely embarrassed. I felt my cheeks burning up. I needed to get out of this situation. I turned off the kitchen tap and dried my hand and forearm on the nearest thing available. It was an old scarf of mine; I used it to wipe the side too. I went into the living room and sat on the sofa turning the TV on. I had no idea where Sonny was when all of a sudden someone had pulled my hood up on top of my head. I jumped out of my skin. I turned around, it was Sonny standing there grinning at me- god that smile was gorgeous!
‘Hey!’ I said pretending to look hurt. Sonny looked around the room, as though looking for something.
‘Have you got a pen?’ he asked
‘No but I have an eyeliner?’ I questioned, being as helpful as I could. He shrugged and held out his hand. I gave it to him and he knelt down in front of me. Before I had time to pull away he was drawing on my face. What the hell! I pulled away and stood up; I had no idea what he did. I saw my pocket mirror on the table and held it in front of my face. He had drawn a triangle on my nose and whiskers. God he wasn’t shy, he hadn’t been here long and had already covered me in boiling water and drawn on my face. I just laughed, I looked quite cute.
‘Now you look like a real tiger!’ he said
‘I have to get a picture!’ I said grabbing my iPhone and holding it in front of me. I couldn’t get my finger round to press the button. Sonny took it from me and did it himself. Oh did I mention he got in the picture too. I looked at the result. It was adorable. I was biting half my lip and he was bearing his teeth.
‘Can I put it on twitter?’ I asked and he nodded. He then asked to be mentioned; @Sonnylr he said so I followed him- then uploaded the photo.
Sonny’s iPhone beeped, he looked at it and laughed, obviously seeing the picture was up already. I giggled. Why? I have never giggled in my life! The front door burst open and in came Eddie and Té holding two boxes of pizza. He held one up and said pepperoni and the other and said margarita. I ran at him, grabbed the pepperoni, ignored his whining and ran upstairs to the safety of my room.
I logged on to twitter and Facebook when I suddenly realized I had like twenty new followers in the last day and I had loads of comments on my photo. I read through them, they mostly said the same but I was confused:
@LRFan- ‘cute, who’s your girlfriend Sonny? Gorgeous’
They all ran along these lines when one stood out
@Eddie’sGirl- It was only a matter of time before the Loveable Rogues got girlfriends
Firstly, who were the Loveable Rogues, and who was Eddie’s girl? Time to do some investigating methinks.
