It was once, many times, and forever.
Reality isn't what we picture it to be. You'd think it is simply life as God intended, but us humans tend to ruin what is granted freely to us. Food, rights, family. We are impure. We deserve to suffer the consequences of what we create, and how it will soon retaliate against our race and the world as a whole. Nothing will be the same as it was.
For years we've been trapped in an inescapable dream to shadow us from the end of the world and our potential deaths. We fought to wake up, see our real families, and not some monsters created in our crumbling imagination. We wanted to see the real sun, the real parents to whom birthed children who only got stuck in a dream. It was the scientist behind our "safety." While I do not remember his name, I remember his actions and his face clear as day. He created crystals withholding elements no normal human being could harness. The usual human would suffer the risk of eternal false awakening or instant death. We aren't like the rest of them, are we? We were made differently, unique in the way that keeps us alive even in the darkest of times. In the dream, I, Israel, posed as the team leader for four members who always were on some type of crazy mission -- which only resulted in our victory as the dream always kept us satisfied. Maranda was like a sister to me, only the type that constantly got in trouble and in the end, learned that you can't always run and win. Many battles were continuous -- leading us all into "chapters of a fake life," as our instructor, Sensor, had put it.
But now, we are awake. For years we mistook our fantasies for our real lives. We were blind and chained in a dream while reality fell apart behind us. All those times, we laughed. We cried. We died. But this, this is reality. We're awake and now games cannot be played or true death can be reached. This is no longer a dream. It's a nightmare.
