To celebrate Fullmetal Alchemist 10 year anniversary I will be writing a story where you (reader) has the chance to travel to the Fullmetal Alchemist universe.
The story takes place between the times Elric brothers and Roy find out the Fuhr...
"I cannot do it! I can't do it!!"you whisper as tears kept rolling down your eyes, your hands shaking not being able to perform the transmutation. Ed and Al notice your hesitation, "(Y/N), you have to do it... You have to go back home, we will be fine!" Ed says while you look at the sky crying out loud falling to your knees while Ed rushes next to you. Al sits down near you along with Ed holding you tight, "How about we try this one more time? Let's get you home, (y/n)"- Ed states wiping your tears away and the two boys step away.
You prepare once more to do clap your hands as you smile at the boys, holding the philosopher's stone inside your mouth. Al and Ed nod at you smiling as you nod back and the clap is heard. For a minute nothing happens as you look confused at the boys, while Ed takes a few steps forward when the grounds starts shaking. The eye opens on the ground and the little black hands grab you and Ed, while Al tries to save his brother, but Ed stops him. "No Al, I will be okay!!" with that the eyes close and Ed along with you disappear.
The two of you find yourself in front of the gate of truth together, as this has never happened before. You look at Ed as he is confused, but not a big fan of where he is. "How is this possible?" Ed asks when the white figure shows up, having half of a heart pumping.
"Hm, I have never seen two people be here at the same time at the same place... Interesting.. So this is what happens when two world interfere with each other."- the white figure says as Ed and you stay quiet.
"No, this is not right, why is Ed here? No you cannot lose another part of you Ed..."you say panicking as the white figure starts laughing while you and Ed shift your attention to the figure.
"Do not worry, Edward Elric was dragged here by mistake, he will be able to return without losing anything, but granted he will not remember being here at all. You won't either so this will be entertaining."-the truth states while you look at Ed surprised and sad at the same time.
"I will not remember you... I see.."-you say lowering your head. Ed approaches you close and lifts your chin up looking in your eyes deeply, where the warm feeling appeared again. "Ed..." you whisper as Ed hugs you tight. "It will be alright!"he gently caress your head.
"I would do anything for you to be safe, Ed! I am sorry I put you through so much trouble..."
"(Y/N), I am sure you did not want to, but in order for me and Al to be safe you have to get back to your side of the world... No matter how much it hurts, you have to leave the familiar feelings and sacrifice comfort in order to create a better life. Besides, I am sure you have to go save your sister too." Ed says with a shaky voice as you nod smiling.
"Ed, it is weird and fast and I might never get to experience this feeling, but thank you for being there for me. I know what to do in order to save my sister. However, at the same be careful, something scary is coming to Central and I do not know anything more, but protect Al..." you say and turn at the white figure."Send Ed back" you state as the figure smiles brightly, making the door behind you open and the little hands start to grab Ed. He looks at you with sad eyes, close to tears while you wave bye at him, smiling and crying at the same time. "I will miss you" you whisper, making Ed give you a warm and gentle smile.

On the other side, Al gets dragged by the gate of truth and the two boys are sent to their room in Central, as it was night. They are sent on their representative beds. Al immediately regains his consequence, while Ed is asleep. "What happened?"Al whispers rubbing his head, while he stands up and walks near the window looking at the sky. "Last thing I remember is coming back to Central to report to colonel Mustang!" Al thinks and then gazes at Ed. As of everyone's memories, the moment you had left the world you were in, than the people involved with you had forgotten everything as the two world cannot collide.. Meanwhile, underground father had witnessed everything happening since the gate of truth opened once more as he uses is abilities to erase his homunculus memory of you and the events following.
On the other side, you were standing in front of the truth as it just sits in front of you.
"Well, are you sure you want to give up on your alchemy skills. On this worlds Alchemy?"the truth asks while you smile, "If I decide to keep my alchemy, Ed would be pretty mad!"you say smiling as the door behind you opens and the hands pull you toward it, as you notice the half of your heart disappear from the white figure. "Too sad you won't stay! It is a really unique opportunity to keep your alchemy and stay here! Now you will go back to your normal life, where you will not remember anything. It is sad when you lose someone you love to get someone else you loved." the truth says before your door is closed.

You were back on your part of the world with no recognition of the events that happened. You quit your job in order to take care of your sister which was still on a coma. You go to the hospital and have a long talk with the doctors before reaching a decision. You walk in the hospital room with the doctor and caretaker as your little sister was laying there, lifeless. You stand on her right side as the doctors prepare to remove her life support. You look down and carefully caress her head before the doctors take her completely off of life support.
"What pushed you to make this decision after so long?"-the doctor asks you while you smile gazing at your sister. "We do not gain anything without sacrificing something... I woke up one day and all I could remember was this verse, until I realised that this is what it meant." you reply while the doctor gives you paperwork to sign. "Who gave you that advice?" the doctor asks as you sign the papers. "You know, I think it was an old friend I met on a dream once!"you say as the doctor nods and they leave the room, while you lean toward your sister. "Rest now, little sister! This way we both will have Fullmetal heart" you whisper and leave the room.
