A year later, and what the proxies were used to had completely flipped around. The mansion had gone from four proxies who were close, to a mansion filled with people who only talked to each other on rare occasions outside of the groups they had formed. Jeff was sitting in the living room, watching BEN play his games.
There was Jane and Liu, who were often seen talking to one another. Himself, Toby, and L.J often hung around each other and caused utter chaos. BEN and Sally stayed with themselves more often than not. E.J, Masky, and Brian seemed to get along just fine, although E.J was more of a third wheel than anything. Jeff's dog Smile only hung around Jeff, protecting his human.
Jeff looked down at the demonic dog laying across his lap. How did he even get here? He sat back and thought about that question. He used to be a loner, someone who didn't care about anyone's opinion and hated the idea of being around others.
Now? Now he can't imagine a day without these loser's. Jeff's lips twitched up into a smile as he ran his fingers through his dogs fur. When Jane first arrived the two were constantly at each others necks, now they just hated each other in silence. He finally regained a semi-normal relationship with his brother.
And Toby. Good god Toby. Jeff felt his heart clench as he thought about the twitchy brunette. He and Toby have gone on so many missions together, they are best friends. And good god does he love that idiot.
A series of crashes made him yelp, and he looked over to the stairs. Toby laid on the ground, laughing like mad as L.J was wheezing at the top of the stairs. Jeff groaned.
"Were you guys sledding down the stairs again?!"
"Maaaybe-"
Jeff sighed and stood up, walking over to Toby and helping him up. Toby grinned up at him with a bright red face. "I swear to god. Are you okay? Break anything?" Jeff asked with concerned eyes. Toby laughed a bit harder and nodded.
"Of course I'm okay! I mean I can't feel any broken bone-"
"Toby. You can't feel pain."
"Oh yea."
Jeff laughed and pulled Toby away from the stairs to sit down with him.Smile moved as the two sat down, Jeff nonchalantly resting his arm on the couch. Toby sat next to him and laughed again; giddy.
"But seriously I'm okay. I didn't land on my wrist or anything, so none of my bones should be broken." Toby smiled, pulling his face guard down.
"Yea yea whatever." Jeff grabbed Toby's hand and pulled the other just a bit closer. He placed his free hand on the others shoulder and felt to see if there was a dislocation or anything. Toby's face grew even more red, his face practically pressed against Jeff's chest as the other checked for any damage to him. Now that Toby's thinking of it. He's never actually seen Jeff without some sort of shirt on. It's kind of disappointing to be honest.
Jeff let go of Toby and rolled his eyes. "You're lucky you didn't get hurt." Jeff then proceeded to smack Toby upside the head. "Dumbass." He scoffed, face reddening at the fact Toby didn't move away from him. He looked down and saw the brunet smiling up at him.
"Jeff?"
"Uh..yes?"Jeff asked, using the heel of his palm to gently push Toby away from his chest.
"How come your the only guy who doesn't walk around without a shirt on? Just wondering."
Jeff flushed worse and shoved him away lightly. Toby laughed. "It's none of your business why I don't! Why? You wanna see me shirtle-"
"Kind of." Toby grinned, his shoulders hunching slightly and his arm suddenly- and violently- hitting the couch. Jeff flushed deeply and pushed the others face away.
"Shut up asshole," Jeff scoffed. He suddenly felt a pawing at his leg, and he clicked his tongue. Smile jumped up and laid himself in between Jeff and Toby, snarling at the brunet. Toby sighed gently and wondered why this dog hated him so much.
The twos moment of peace were quickly ruining however, when Masky kicked in the door dragging Brian's seemingly unconscious body behind him. "goD DAMMIT WE HAVE A CODE 32!!" Masky yelled, letting Brian's leg drop as he panted. Toby and Jeff shot up and ran over.
Brian groaned softly, his jacket ripped up and he was bleeding from the stomach and slightly around his neck. Toby was quick to pick up Brian and run into where they usually took care of injuries. Jeff stayed behind to ask Masky what happened.
"Brian and I were on patrol as per normal- honestly we need to remind ourselves to actually bring efficient weapons- but anyways. We were walking and quietly talking as we always do, when we both heard a rustling. Brian pulled his gun while I pulled out my knife. That's when something lunged at us. Well. More like me. I landed on the ground with The Rake on top of me. And he went to just straight up kill me, when Brian kicked him away and tried to shoot at him.
Now usually we don't try to fight that thing because He could get mad at us. But The Rake started it so ya. Brian dropped his gun so while they were fighting I grabbed the gun and shot at that thing. Rake ran away and I grabbed Brian and went back here. But Brian practically collapsed in my arms and cause I can't fully carry his weight I had to drag this motherfuckers ass back here."
Jeff rolled his eyes at Masky, but went to go see if Toby was having a difficult time stitching up Brian.

Slender sat in his office, going over files yet again. It was late at night now, and he was enraged that his proxies were hurt due to Zalgo's incompetence. He suddenly grabbed a landline and called his brothers. He was going to organize a meeting between the observers, and either calmly discuss what was going on, or end up seeing who was actually more powerful.
