You can do it. You can do it. You can do it.
I had been trying to enter the Grand Line Ballroom for five days now.
But the same thing happened every day.
I would get here.
Stare at the door.
Pace back and forth for 15 minutes.
Chicken out and go home.
The people there are nice! Sanji might be there. My therapist and Sora both think he would be great for me.
Heat rises to my face at the thought of him. I hadn't texted him since our late-night texting five days ago.
I didn't want to seem desperate or needy.
Plus, it was easy to hide behind my phone. I could take my time to re-read and scrutinize every message.
Facing him in real life was a whole lot more terrifying.
"Bonjour madame!" A sing-song voice calls from down the street.
I clutch onto the pepper spray that was attached to my purse before I turn to face the voice.
To my surprise, the gentleman that was approaching was not skeezy looking but fabulously dressed.
He had very tight pastel pink pants on and a skin tight white T-shirt with rolled up sleeves exposing his toned arms.
"He. . . Hello." I reply, nervous what the man wanted.
When he came closer, I noticed that man had immaculate makeup on. Well, maybe too much rouse.
"Don't be scared sweetheart. Just checking to see if you are okay. I've been watching you pace in front of this building for the past 5 minutes while I have been approaching." He brushes his black cropped bangs, "Anything I can do for you?"
I point to the building, "Just about to go up. Little nervous it is my first time." I was hoping if he knew I was going somewhere he would leave me be.
He places a finger on his cleft chin and cocks his head, "Hmmm I don't remember having an 11 o'clock."
The ravenette must have noticed the puzzled expression on my face. He reaches into his black shoulder bag and pulls out his keys, "Sorry for not properly introducing myself." He extends a hand, "My name is Bon Clay and I own this establishment. Please feel free to call me Bon."
Fudge. Now I have to go up.
I shake his hand and step back so he can get to the door.
Bon opens the door and holds it open for me.
I know he was just being polite but I did not feel comfortable with a man following me up the stairs.
Even if he appeared to be gay, you should never assume. My paranoid brain was screaming what if he bisexual or pansexual or something else.
Just walk up the stairs, you weirdo.
I press forward and nearly sprint up the stairs.
Bon seems to be chuckling to himself as he scales the stairs behind me, "Do you have a lesson today?"
I run my sweaty palms on my grey leggings, "Well no but Sanji said I should stop in whenever." I run my fingers along my French braid, "sorry. I. . . I should have called or something."
I turn on my heels of my black runners ready to leave.
"Wait. Wait. Wait." Bon blocks my exit making me retreat back, "I don't have anyone right now. Your first lesson is on me! Your body screams dancer. Just wait here while I quick grab my shoes."
