Leigha awoke at 5 am as she noticed when she unraveled from Tommy's arms and seen her watch. She noticed she was only in his t-shirt and her underwear. Oh damn. She recalled yesterday evening, her crying in his arms and then the jack, shit, she drank two glasses, which equals 6 shots, crap, cheap ass drunk, she passed out. She knew he didn't take advantage of her, man has strength she noted, she also noted he held her all night. More strength. She wiggled out of bed, grabbed her clothes and went into the kitchen. She made him a pot of coffee that would be hot when he woke up and seen paper and a pen on the table, she wrote him a note,

Ah, My Tommy, my Scot

Thank you for being there for me last night, holding me and allowing me to cry my eyes out. All without judgement. Your care and concern is in my heart now.

Again, thank you from the best parts of my heart.

I will be gone all day, I'll be picking Jason up and going to the police station and wrapping up this investigation today.

See you soon,

Your cry baby neighbor.

She then slipped out of the house, home, showered and out the door to the hospital to pick up Jason for their day of police interviews and to complete the investigation report and continue with the FBI to see about getting an innocent man out of prison.

A week and a half had passed, Leigha was looking at other cases, cold cases, Jason had taken a week off for him and Julie to spend time alone and she got to babysit Sophie and had her on runs with her. Tommy had been working and sometimes late at night, they seen each other for dinners or breakfasts on each others decks or patios but not everyday. He often gave her a kiss as he left or she left his place and her mind as his was, divided between work and each other. Leigha needed some time off, time off from work, she needed to rethink her focusing and needed some Leigha time before doing so.

This evening she was sitting on her back porch, having a sweet tea, bag of chips and a joint, it was late. She heard Tommy's bike pull in and within a few minutes he was on her porch, she handed him the joint and he took it. "Late night for you my lass"?

"I've just been sitting here making a decision"

"And"

"I'm going to take a week off from working and have some fun" smiling as she looked over at him.

He had his feet up on her patio coffee table seeming very comfortable. "And fun to you is"?

"Humm, I'm thinking a spa day, antique shopping day, a day on a private beach to empty my mind, days of doing nothing but something"

"Throw in a long days bike ride as I have a few days off coming up and a night on the town" He loved her ideas of days off and how to spend them.

"I think I might be able to arrange that" as she sank back in her chair, thanking God she would get more time with him.

"Might even take you to work with me one day"

"Really"? "I might be swooned by all those handsome actors you work with" laughing

"No, I think I have set a bar they can't get close to" laughing with her. "But I'd love to show you around and off as well"

"I just might add that to my adventure too" As they both then sat and enjoyed the crisp evening before it got too late and he went home and she went to bed.

The next morning Jason came to run with her and she told him of the time off she was taking, "And a few days with Tommy too"?

"I do believe so my love, I mentioned it to him last night and he added a few ideas together"

"Don't push him my little witch, let him make the move, you've got to trust me on this one"

"Male rituals, blast them, I'd rather have him in my bed making my own rituals!"

"The time it takes for him to get there will be well worth it, we are not in college for one night stands or friends with benefits anymore, give it the time it needs and get to know each other"

"Whatever, fine, make me suffer, lack of sex for 3 years hasn't killed me yet"

He laughed as they finished their run and he was off to work and her home alone, today she cleaned house and thought of her plans for her week off.

Later that evening she heard him coming in on his bike, she had made up some horderves and carried them over to his back deck as he came out. She seen he had a bit of a headache, "Another one coming on"

"Yes, it's work related my lass" as he sat down and took a bite of her samples. He had brought out two beers.

She picked hers up and walked back home to get her oil mixture she had made for him and back over to his place. She went in for her hot rags and then to him.

"My lass, you don't need to coddle me each time I have a headache"

"Yes I do, you don't want a full blown migraine, and I don't want to see you have one, now sit silently and let me be"

"I'll not argue my lass, you work better than the meds do"

She noted the knots in his neck and shoulders, it was more stress than anything and she felt him totally relax as she stood behind him and massaged him. Her mind was tripping out over her fingers and hands massaging his hard upper body when he spoke and startled her, "My lass you are a miracle worker"

"Shhh, quiet, I'm fantasizing right now"

He laughed, "Tell me about your fantasy"

"Nope, you can only hope one day it'll come true and you'll be there" and she laughed.

He laughed even harder, "Now I know why Jason calls you his witchy woman"

"You've only just began learning why he does that" and as she finished she went in for 2 more beers as he put his t-shirt back on.

As she came back out and settled into her chair Tommy asked her, "When you left that note the other morning, one word has stuck with me"

"Which word was that" she wondered

"Judgement" "I didn't judge you"

She laughed a little, " A few men whom I dated for a little bit in my past have seen that outcome and have passed judgement on me, they think because I cry or because I've been in a few dangerous places in this work life that I am not cut out for it and should quit, a little tiny woman should not play with guns, or cry after a bad day" "So they were no longer dateable you could say, I am who I am and I'm a girl so I cry when my adrenaline comes down and I can hold my own in a fight if need be, and if a loved one such as Jason gets hurt I'm going to cry" "You just allowed it and held me and let me be, then again, not to mention you knocked my ass out with my weakness of jack" laughing. "And you didn't begin a preaching sermon on male vs female roles" Laughing more.

"It's perfectly understandable why you cried, I know I would have too, if you had been in Jason's place on the ground with a bashed in head. And I have to believe you are well trained to handle what you need to out in the world in your job" "Never apologize for crying and always know my arms will hold you if ever again you need them to cry in"

"I've got to met your mom one day, she raised a hell of a man"

"One day you just might" "Now tell me about your week off"

"It starts tomorrow, a day at the spa" smiling with the thought of someone taking care of her woman needs and relaxing

"And Sunday"?

"I'm not sure yet"

"Then Sunday is mine, I'll plan it, casual and we will be on the bike"

"Sunday is planned then" smiling at him wishing tomorrow was Sunday now.

Another beer, small talk and he walked her home to her patio door, he bent to kiss her and deepen it more than he had in the past, leaving her breathless as he turned and went home.
