"Earth, fire, air or water" I thought, "which am I to choose tomorrow?" I knew that air was selfless and helpful, earth was caring and calm, fire was selfish and brutal and water was brave and protective.
"But how did I show all these aspects in the test?" I asked myself. My mother, Marlene, is air. She is so selfless and helpful and graceful in all the right ways. My father, David, is Earth. He is calm in every situation. As dad can't fly, our families' house is in the earth essential but for the past year I have had to live in unessential as I am 16 and have just taken the test. Mum is in the council and is almost always away but today she took the curtesy to drive me to school for the test.
"The test" I whispered "everything revolves around it. Our essential group, our lifestyle, the way we think. Everything." For some reason I have never fit into the way my families works. Or how anyone else works for that instance.
"That's just the way you are." A voice in the back of my head told me "no one can change that" it said.
"But that doesn't help me make my decision" I thought, angrily. So I decided to climb on top of the roof.

Once I got up there I stared at the endless darkening sky.
"It's beautiful isn't it" A voice said from behind me. Quickly whipping my head around I realised it was only my mum.
"What are you doing up here?" I questioned her
"Taking my mind off some stuff" She sighed.
"Like what" I asked
"Council stuff that you don't need to know about young lady" she said sternly before her expression returned to her normal soft smile.
"Faith. Whatever your test results were and no matter what essential group you choose I will ALWAYS love you." She whispered
"W-what do you mean? Do you know my test results?" I asked, concerned. "How did you find out? Who told-"
"Faith darling. I don't know your results I am just reassuring you that it will love you no matter what."
"Oh. Okay mum I'm sorry I questioned you."
"It's okay. Now let's go downstairs to eat dinner" she whispered before leading me downstairs to eat.
