My New Family (Upcurch Story)

Chapter 1

I have been roaming around an area I didnt know for days. My parents had this game they liked to play with the authorities to get money. They would drop me off somewhere call me in as a runaway and put up a cash reward for finding me. Last time they dropped me off on the bad side of some town.

My stomach growled as I groaned softly,  I heard someone slam on their breaks. I looked up as I seen a nice car and people running out of it. "Girl what the hell you doing out here!!" I message a groan sound as I couldn't speak. I taught myself sign language just in case someone knew. 'Please don't call the cops...I can't go back to my parents' I signed. One of the guys signed back,  'why,,?" I looked at them. 'They play this game where they drop me off in unknown areas and offer high rewards to bring me back. When im home they feed me and lock me in my room all day until they pick a new spot. Been shooting this since I turned 10.' The guy told them what I had said and one got angry. Well they all did.

"You can stay with me. I'll call the cops. I know them personally." The leader type guy said. I nodded. A girl who was very pretty helped me get into the car. When we got to this beautiful ranch my jaw dropped. "Ma!" The man yelled as the girl got me out. A woman came out she took one look at me as she wanted to cry. "Let's get you in the shower I'll get you some clothes. "Hey Katie she looks almost your size could she borrow some of your clothes." The girl I know as Katie now nodded.

The lady known as 'ma' showed me to the shower. She left me as I kept the door unlocked and started the water. I undressed whimpering softly, I finally was stripped and in the shower. I seen all the dirt and grime getting off of me, I washed my body,  shampooed my hair. I finally finished I seen a towel on the toilet. I dried off and wrapped it around me, "oh shit I'm sorry I thought you where in the shower." I looked to see the man from before. "I-its okay. My name is River Emma. I don't know my last name." He had a look of sadness and anger.

"You where in the shower for a hour n a half so Katie and I went shopping. My name is Ryan Upchurch. And we need to talk when you get out." I nodded. He left as I got dressed. Sweats, a tank top and a hoodie. I walked out "I'm Patty but you can call me gram!" I giggled softly but nodded. "I have custody of you for now. You parents didnt take it to well. They are threatening to sue me." My tears started to go down my face. "I'm so sorry." I said softly.
