"Percy, I have to." The twelve year old argued, her ebony braid blowing hastily in the wind. Her sea-green eyes hardened at her twin brother, and if looks could kill, she would have her celestial bronze dagger at his face.
"No, Heather. I'm not letting you." Percy said, tears burning in his eyes, the ones his sister also had. Heather was the only one, besides Sally of course, who had been there for Percy. The one who he protected. And now she was turning away, ignoring him.
"Don't you see!? I can join him, and get inside information! Would you rather be one step ahead, or one step behind?" Heather pointed out. Percy bit his lip anxiously - she was right.
"But this Kronos guy...he seems a little unfair. Just wait a while Heather. Then do it." Percy said, and he put a hand on her shoulder. Heather sighed, fixing her eyes on the ground.
"Look, Percy, the sooner I do it, the more Luke will trust me. I have to. Please, for the camp. For Grover, Annabeth, even Clarisse." Heather said, looking up to face Percy.
"But, Heather. You could get hurt, or- or worse!"
"And it's a risk I'm willing to take." Heather said, a look of confidence and bravery on her face.
"Heather. Just, just...don't get hurt. If you die, I wouldn't be able to live with myself..." Percy said, his words spilling like water from a fountain.
"Don't worry Perce. I'll be fine." Heather said, and she hugged her twin tightly.
"Don't forget to Iris Message." Percy said, pulling away and looking at his sister. His eyes showed pride, yet fear.
"I'll try." Heather said, as she put her dagger in her belt. She slung her black bag over the shoulder, and gave Percy one last, confident smile before leaving.
