I pull up on 3rd avenue and spot Jamie and Trevor standing outside smoking a cigarette.
I park across the street and make my way over to the bar.
"Lola!" Jamie yells running up to me and almost knocking me over. The smell of alcohol hitting me like a freight train.
"Hey girl! Congrats again! I'm so excited for you"
"Let's go get a drink! I've had 6 already" She exclaims grabbing my hand and leading me to the entrance of the bar.
"I can smell that" I say and we both laugh
"Jack is here" she whispers and a sinister smile spread across her face
Lovely. I sigh silently. After my last boyfriend I don't think I'll ever date again! He was the best thing to happen to me until he decided to sleep with 3 different girls that I thought were my friends.
"I don't need a man, I just need a drink" I state.
she shakes her head and laughs.
We approach a high top table and I immediately recognize Trevor.
"Hey Lola! Good to see you" Trevor greets me as he stands up from the table and gives me a hug.
"Hey Trevor, good to see you too"
"This is Stephen" he points to a guy with black hair and covered in tattoos.
"And this is Jack" pointing to a tall drink of water with dirty blonde hair and green eyes sitting next to Stephen.
"Hi" I say and give an awkward wave
"What up" Stephen says taking a big gulp of his beer giving me a nod with his head.
Jack stands and extends his hand out for a shake.
"Pleasure to meet you. Lola"
I place my hand in his.
Ugh the way he says my name. The words just falling off his tongue like butter. My knees instantly feel weak and butterflies are going crazy in my stomach. This guy is hot!!
I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I feel Jamie dig her elbow into my side.
"Uh, hi" I manage to spit out in embarrassment. Realizing I've been holding his hand for a good 10 seconds.
A smile creeps onto Jacks face as he takes his seat, his eyes never leaving mine.
I break eye contact and turn to Jamie.
"Come with me to get a drink?" I ask with a look of, you better come with me plastered on my face.
She smiles and grabs my hand. We head up to the bar and take a seat on the open stools in front of us.
"He's hot right?" She leans in whispering to me.
"Very!" I exaggerate widening my eyes
We both break into laughter as the bartender approaches us.
"Hi ladies, what can I get for you?"
The man behind the counter asks.
"I'll take a rum and coke" Jamie says
"Um, ill have the same please" I reply
The bartender disappears and returns within minutes. We grab our drinks and head back to the table.
