Your p.o.v.
You sighed as you plopped down on the park bench. You had been looking for a job for awhile now. And for awhile you mean all day. You couldn't search tomorrow because you had business to attend to. And wear a short skirt. You and skirts had an agreement. You didn't wear them, and they didn't raise up at the most inconvenient time.
You sighed as you slowly stood. Only to be slammed to the side by some unseen force. But that force slowly materialized into a girl. She had pretty brown/black hair and beautiful brown eyes. She sat on the ground and rubbed her head. She wore a short green skirt and a white top that just barely showed a bit of stomach. Honestly you disliked wearing skirts. You much preferred the style you currently wore.
"Oh, I'm very sorry!" the strange girl said in a hurry. She looked kind of upset that she had fallen. And obviously spoke in Japanese. One of the few faults in coming from America with hardly any before planning was that you hardly spoke any of the language. You sighed and looked at her closely. She honestly looked like a nice girl. You glanced down at the backpack containing many items, a change of clothes, a book of Grimm Fairytales. Some money and a simple switchblade. Military issue. At a little shop you found you had katana that you had stolen from the place you ran away from. You had to get it fixed because you had broken it running away from a certain facility.
You sighed and smiled at her apologetically. "I...I don't speak much Japanese. But I'll try my best." She seemed shocked, but soon disregarded it and smiled brightly.
"Well, my name is Kagome." Kagome said in English. "What are you doing?" She was probably confused because you were just sitting aimlessly on a bench in front of a park. You told her about your job hunt and how terribly it was going. The two of you had started walking and now stood in front of what looked like a shrine. Must be where she lived. Along the way she had taught you different Japanese words and now you had the language almost down-pat.
Kagome was very surprised that you memorized the language so well. You just told her that you had a great memory.
"Well, my mother has been looking for some full time help around the shrine. You won't have to do much, and it doesn't pay much, but you get a room of your own and free meals. You get to stay in the house." Kagome burst out. Wow. She was really offering you this after only knowing you for a few hours? You were speechless. You had never been treated so kindly in your life.
Kagome's cheeks were slowly turning red and her hands were covering her mouth. "U-um, if you don't want to you don't-" you cut her off by pulling her body close to yours. It was kind of awkward for you because you weren't used to physical human contact. And you were taller than her so you had to bend down slightly so she wouldn't be smothered by your breasts.
"Thank you, Kagome." You whispered into her ear. She smiled softly and grabbed your hand pulling you up the stairs to the shrine. You smiled softly. Maybe everything was going to be okay from now on.
...Maybe they wouldn't find you this time.
