Before it all started (Telltale the walking dead)

Chapter 3

The rain pours down outside of Lees house. The rain drops punch the window as they fall. A sound Lee finds relaxing although at this time he is finding it hard to do that such thing. A computer screensaver is bouncing around the screen. The phone rings. Lee springs up away from the chair he was placed in. He runs over to the phone and picks it up quickly.

"Lee?" Lisa calls down the phone

"Lisa?" Lee says in shock, out of breath.

"I'm not....erm...."

"What?"

"I'm not coming home when you're still in the house"

"What why!?" Lee panicked

"I just can't handle it, I'll come and collect my things in a couple of weeks when you're gone at work."

"I.... I...."

"You knew this was happening Lee down think it wasn't"

"But I still love you Lisa"

"Got to go now, bye"

Lisa hangs up and leaves Lee kneeling by the phone with his mouth hinged open. He puts the phone back up and stares around the room he sees everything belonging to Lisa and imagines what the house would look like without her. "WHAT THE FUCK!" Lee picks up a vase off of the mantle piece and throws it at the computer. The vase bounces off and smashes on the laminated wood below. The computer screen falls back against the wall now Covered in cracks. Lee paces up and down the room with his hands stroking his head.

"ARRRRGHHHH" he kicks the couch multiple times before laying down on it and looking and the ceiling. "Why the fuck is it me, always me!"

A few weeks later Lee is entering a drugstore. "Hey guys" Lee says as a couple of familiar faces come out from the trance of magazines, stacking shelves and listening to the drone of a distant radio. "Lee! Bro its good to see you where have you been?" B Lee's brother approaches him and shakes his hand leading to a pat on the back.

"Just been doing my own thing, yah no" Lee shrugs his shoulders his face is plastered with sadness.

"Honey! Lee is here, he's finally come to visit" A man with a cane walked around pasted the counter and used the cane to tap on the office door. A few seconds later a woman came out with a delighted look on her face.

"Lee you're finally here, I was wondering when you'd next come visit so busy in your work and marriage" Lees mum gave him a hug he responded and gave her a hug back.

"Well that's the thing mum, I think me and Lisa are splitting up"

"Sorry to hear that Bro" says B

"She went to Tampa in Florida and she says she wants to collect her things when she comes back, I think she wants a divorce" Lee says with tears forming in his eyes.

"Its okay son, you don't need her anyway there's plenty of women that are willing to marry a nice young man like yourself."

"Thanks dad but it still doesn't change much" Lee looks around the well-kept store. He begins to walk around grabbing two things an energy bar and sleeping pills. He walks over to the counter.

" aren't you going to serve me?" Lee waits as his family continue to stare at him. He grabs a packet of cough sweets. "I also think I'm coming down with a cold" Lee coughs to prove his point.

"Okay son, although I don't see why you need the sleeping pills?" His mum looked at him in a concerned manner.

"I can't sleep mum, why else would I need them" he snaps back.

"Sorry, I just.....sorry" Lee apologises for his mistake and takes money out of his wallet. His family stare at him as he walks slowly leaving the shop.

"We were going to have a family dinner on Sunday if you would like to join us?" His dad asked sympathetically.

"Okay, I'll think about it" Lee continued to walk towards the door.

"Oh yeah and bro, we should go out sometime just me and you" B said excited to finally get to do something with his brother who rarely visits.

"I'll think about that too, give me a ring sometime" Lee exits the store and stares into the bag. He gets into his car and throws it in the seat beside him. He starts the car and drives back home.
