it was a warm evening, the sun was setting and i had a perfect view of it out of my living room window. the lights were dimmed perfectly and the tv played soft music from youtube that gently echoed through the house. i was curled into a ball on the couch with a soft, baby blue blanket wrapped around my entire body. i was wearing very comfortable clothes-a long, pink sweater with black shorts and fuzzy black socks. everything seemed to be just right, but, something was also missing.
my love.
i stand up, tossing the blanket off of me and head towards my bedroom—well, our bedroom, i should say.
i gently open the door, smiling softly when i see him, my love, sleeping peacefully. he was lying on his back, his head tilted back into the pillow, his mouth was half open as he let out little snores.
i walk inside fully, closing the door back and walk over towards the bed. i then climb onto the bed, straddling his hips as i lean forward, laying on his exposed body with my arms wrapped around his neck.
"mmh, baby..?"
i hum, closing my eyes and just feeling his warmth intertwined with mine.
i then feel two hands slide up my body and two arms then wrapping around me. i look up, resting my chin on his bare chest as i stare back into his eyes with a soft smile, "hey."
he smiles back, "hey."
"how'd you sleep, love?"
"i slept great." he runs a hand through my hair, playing with the strands absentmindedly.
"are you still tired?"
he nods a bit, "a little."
"ahh, i'm sorry i woke you-"
"no, i'm glad you did, love." he chuckles, rolling over on top of me and burying his head in the crook of my neck. i let out a laugh, running my hands up and down his back, "and why is that?"
"because now i have a teddy bear to help me go back to sleep." he mumbles against my skin making me shiver a bit. he laughs, taking my hand in his.
"alrighty then. let's sleep."
he hums in agreement as i pull the duvet over us and snuggle closer to him.
i kiss his forehead and close my eyes, drifting off into sleep as our perfect and warm evening continues.
