I stood.

Frozen.

Shocked.

He looks up at me and smiles with admiration showing on his face. "You're still really pretty silly girly."

I blush a deep red and look down. I know I'm not ugly but I'm not exactly pretty either. My mother is gorgeous and my father is handsome regarding his age he looks way younger. But somehow, I look like neither of them.

Mums eyes are brown and dads are a dark blue. My eyes are almost grey. I think that the colour is the only thing I like about myself.

My hair is too long and my skin is neither pale nor tan. I don't really know what to describe it as. Like maybe the colour of sand on a beach before the water hits it. I honestly don't know. I start to walk to class and Ben tails closely behind me. We stop outside the door because first period hasn’t started yet so no one was in the class. I go inside and lean on one of the desk with Ben standing in front of me.

"You know I’m not-" I begin but get cut off because Ben is slowly inching closer. 5 inches…4 inches…3 inches.., I literally stopped breathing. 2 inches... he cups my face with one hand and leans just a little closer. My eyes widen even more and I wait for what happens next. 1 inch…

"Ahem." a voice stops us both. His lips are a mere hairline away from mine. I’m still not breathing and now, neither is he. We stand, frozen in place.

Moments pass and I decide to tear my gaze from his and find out who spoke up. I was surprised, I expected Jacob but instead it was our teacher. Mr. Smith. He stands there glaring at us for a few seconds. We realise that everyone had already sat down and have been staring at us the whole time. Including Jacob. We hear a wolf whistle and the class erupts in laughter. Ben smirks and whispers something in my ear.

“Pretty boy there seems a little upset about our little… Scene.” Ben’s lips brush past my ear and I shiver. He made the whole whispering thing so obvious that I swear, People would definitely have seen what words his lips made. But somehow, they didn’t. Ben gives my hand a quick squeeze then goes to sit down. I however, stand rooted to my spot. I glance over to my angry teacher. He starts to tap his foot impatiently.

“Ahem. Sit.” He barks.

A smirk grows onto my lips and I put a hand on my hip. My humble side completely vanishes and I stare straight back at him.

“Sorry Mr. Smith, You seem to have something in your throat. You all right there?” I say smugly and arch my eyebrow. Now I know, this is so not what I’m like and honestly? I usually respect teachers. Just not this one. He is an arrogant, rude, inconsiderate man who only wants to be an academic pain in your ass. Plus I think Ben just brought back my smart ass attitude I lost when I met Jacob.

“Watch your tone there Miss Walker.” He said in a low voice. I shrugged and walked to my seat. By now, the whole class watched me in surprise. Ben was trying to hold back a snicker. I looked over at him and shoot him a wink. He winks back and makes a face. He’s so weird, but it suits his personality. I smile and stick my tongue out at him and take a seat. After a few seconds, I open a book to read.
