I hated the color purple.
"Kazuko, this is for you." Taking the purple choker that was in my mother's hands, I looked up at her. My fingers traced the carving at the back, "Fujimoto", the family name.
"Oka-san?" Her face was a mixture of both happiness and sadness. As she handed me the gift father gave her on their first date, I couldn't help but have a bad feeling.
"I'm... sorry my dear Kazu-chan. This is all I can give you." Kneeling down so that she saw me eye to eye, she took a good look at me, tears streaming down her face.
In her purple irises reflected mine. Orbs of purple and green, an abomination of colors compared to hers.
Her black long silky locks, as compared to mine. Unkempt purple hair, just like father's. One he loves and the other he loves to ignore.
"Kazu-chan, oka-san is sorry. But, I can't do this anymore. Promise me you'll be strong okay? Wait for me." "Okay! Kazuko is good at keeping her promises to oka-san!"
Holding back her cries, she gave me one last hug. As she petted my head, I smiled. Then, she left and never looked back. Leaving me to wait with my father who slowly grew mad. The one who never saw me. Or cared enough to see.
Day after day, her absence taking a toll on him. Day after day, of waiting at the door at 8pm sharp, hoping she'd be there. Hoping to just catch a glimpse of someone whom I never saw again.
I was only 4 at the time. A foolish girl I was.

"This is your new home okay?" As the teacher brought me into the room, the children went silent. "Go on, introduce yourself!"
Twiddling with my thumbs, I spoke up, with hesitation in my voice. "M-my name is K-Kazuko, n-nice to meet you all..."
Even without lifting my head, I could sense what they were thinking. Children were talking amongst each other, pointing at my different colored eyes.
"My name's Otoya Ittoki! Let's play together Kazu-chan!!" Without waiting for me to respond, the red head dragged me along to his favourite spot to play.
"Nee, Kazu-chan, why do you hid your green eye with your hair?" Hearing him say that, I consciously used my bangs to hide my right eye.
"That's because it's not normal right? And, the other kids will say stuff about it too..."
"Huh? But Kazu-chan's eyes look pretty!! And your purple hair looks pretty too! You shouldn't hide your hair or your eyes!"
Then, I cut of my bangs. I grew to love my purple hair, which was just like my father's. And I grew to love the color purple.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Say hello to your new neighbors, Kazuko!" Doing as I was told, I noticed a purple haired boy hiding behind his parents.
"N-nice to meet you, Ichinose-san" Extending a hand out to him, I introduced myself. Shyly, he took my hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you too, Fujikawa-san."
As both our parents laugh at our awkwardness, I couldn't suppress a giggle as well. All was well. At least that was what I thought.
I was 6 at the time.
-----------------------------------------------------------
After my new parents died in an accident, I was once again left alone. With no one there, I'd often lock myself up in my room.
Crying and crying. Crying till the floor was wet with my tears. Crying till my uniform was completely soaked. Crying till I had no tears left to cry.
Without them, the bullying started again. In school, in public, everywhere I went. Everyone who saw or knew me said I was cursed.
Everyone but a certain purple haired boy whom parents neglected both I and him.
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Kazuko, I know this is crazy, but come with me. " My eyes widened. He can't be serious can he? There's no way."To Tokyo? But I-"
"It's okay, once I debut, I'll be able to provide for the both of us." Had I known what it would have cost, I would've stopped you right there and then.
But I was naïve. And I was already 15 at that time.
-----------------------------------------------------------
An idol, huh? I've never really given much thought to it. Though the satisfaction of showing others how much I changed from 10 years ago was appealing.
Maybe if I became one, I could help Tokiya out. After all, having someone in the same line of business helps, right?
I guess it couldn't hurt...
Author's notes: So how was it? You might've noticed but, I took a few pointers from black butler's madam red(spoilers). Also, I'd like to say that I'll not be focusing much on Haruka. This is to flash out Kazuko as much as possible without Haruka stealing the spotlight. Sorry to all you Haruka fans out there! If you liked it, please continue to support this story. Even just a comment makes my day! Any tips on how to improve the story will help too!! Oh and just in case you weren't too sure on what's going on, basically she was adopted from the orphanage. But not long afterwards, her new parents died, and she became an orphan again. Then, the Ichinose family took her in out of sympathy. However, like what happened to Tokiya, they both got neglected and then the former got scouted to be an idol. He then took a chance and got them both out of that loneliness. Anyways, hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned for more!
