Aiden

I wake up, feeling exhausted. I look at the time on my phone. It said 1:23 pm. I rub my eyes. As I got up from my bed, I took a look at myself in the mirror.

My hair was messy and sticking out on all direction and looked overall like a bird's nest atop of my head.

I decide to go to the bathroom and take a shower as I smelt like crap.

I go in the bathroom, getting undressed and stepping in the shower. The cold water droplets on my bare skin instantly easing my nerves. An immense feeling of hurt swept over me as I rubbed my hands over my face, dismissing it.

After I finished I stepped out of the shower, drying my hair and putting on a pair of sweatpants and a grey hoodie.

I go downstairs, starvation taking a toll on me. I open the cupboard, finding some cereal as I take out a bowl and some milk. It's never too late eat cereal. I take a spoon and start heading upstairs feeling I'd rather eat in my room than in the kitchen. I expected to be alone as mom and dad would be at work by now.

Just as I was going to my room, I see Jessie's door slightly open, hearing some noise coming from it. I slowly walk towards it. Jessie was suppose to be at school now. Curiosity took over me as I slowly opened the door. When I walk in I see Jessie on her bed, tear stains on her cheeks. She snaps her head in my direction as she quickly shuts her laptop, wiping her eyes.

"What are you doing here? And why are you crying?" I ask her in a concerned tone, putting my food on her desk.

"Please don't tell mom and dad please I'd do anythin-" She started in barely audible tone.

"I wont tell them. Just tell me why you're in your room crying." I said in a firm but confused tone.

"Well.." She started as she played with her hair, something she always does when she's nervous or scared.

I stay silent, waiting for her to finish.

"My best friend just.. she.." She stopped talking as she cleared her throat, her voice cracking.

"Your best friend Lauren?" I took a guess. I've always knew something was off about her. I never really liked her anyways.

"Yeah. She.. she went against me.. for-for some reason, and told everyone bad rumors about me to everyone in my year group. She-she made the whole school hate me. I-I don't know what I ever did to her. I thought w-we were best friends she-she just left m-me-"

"Woah-woah-woah Jessie." I said in a comforting tone as I went over to her and pulled her into a hug as she started shaking. I pull her closer, allowing her to cry on my shoulder as I tried to comfort her, rubbing my hand on her back.

After a few minutes of her quietly sniffing, I pulled away, putting my hands on her shoulders, making her look at me.

"Okay what did she say?" I asked in a soft tone.
