After the conversation, Em gave me her and Emily's phone number and left. For some reason they shared a phone I guess. I stood up at the same time and walked over for some cake. When I reached it there was barley any left. 'Boy dem teens were hungry!' Emily and her aunt were organizing games a little ways away as I grabbed a slice. Once I took a bite it felt like my mouth was in Heaven. I chewed slowly, savoring every bite.
Once the cake was no longer on my plate, it was time for games. The first one was limbo, which I hadn't heard of until then. I failed miserably at it. The next was just a diving competition. It was mainly between the guys though. Kile actually won that one. Swimming and diving seemed to be in his DNA, he was that good. The only thing he had told me about swimming was that his mom used to be a good swimmer too. She must have been REALLY good.
The third game was dodge ball, but in the pool. A net was span from one side to the other when it was time to play volleyball. I was not that bad at those two games. Even though I had never played either of them. Learning how to throw and catch fireballs with the ghasts when I was younger helped I guess.
Em didn't join in on any of the games involving water, which was practically all of them. She just made herself busy by cleaning, fixing squeaky chairs and tables, or helping grill some of the food for those who were still hungry. I began to wonder if she couldn't swim.
Emily however, played every single game. She also somehow managed to end up on my team every time. Probably since she had birthday girl powers. I also noticed she eyed Em every now and then suspiciously. Emily was pretty good at the games too. And she won several of them.
After Kile won the diving match I saw him talking with some other guys he had competed with. It looked like they were having a pleasant conversation. I didn't really want to interrupt. So I didn't.
No matter how many times I looked for him, Trace was nowhere to be found. I didn't think he would be the blending in type, but he must have since I couldn't see him after a long time of looking around.
After a while of looking I decided to try and see if I could find him with my super vision or whatever it's called. I found some sunglasses on the floor and slid them over my eyes, since I knew if I used that power my eyes would glow like my dad's, and turned the obility on. I knew it would drain me a little but I didn't plan to use it very long. When I turned on the special vision thing however, my sight was almost clouded with an alarming amount of misty energy. The super sight power allowed me to see energy sources too and stuff. It wasn't very helpful though because only me and my dad had powers, that I knew of.
The mist of energy all around me made me wonder if I really was the only one here who could destroy an entire building with just a few punches. There was a mixture of different colors of energy, meaning there were several beings with different origins of power. I was amazed to see that I was possibly far from alone. Maybe there were others that hid their powers like I did, but even better. But the fact that the energy that the power emits was so strong, made it hard for me to pinpoint exactly where, or who it was coming from. I saw white energy, probably mine or something, but did I really leave that big if a trail? I would have to ask Dad about that. Then there was a red mist, which I had never seen before. The particles that floated around didn't move as fluently as mine, they zipped around like an unstable substance. It was very interesting to watch. And there was a third that was almost invisible. It was a pale light blue. It flowed around like water in space, clumping into little light blue misty bubbles and then separating again. Usually 'streams of power,' as I call them, are not so easily seen. So something had to be making it all stand out so much it was clogging my vision. But what?
