The tension as the guests trudged into the game room was thick enough to cut with a knife. As the group collapsed on the couches, Selene slunk into the room, clicking the door shut behind her. She tried to slink into the shadows, but was stopped by Daniel and Tom.

"You owe us an explication Selene, now." Tom growled as the rest of the group turned to watch. Only Eva and Thomas remained with their backs to the situation. Selene seemed to shrink even smaller.

"I am just your guide; my job is to give you clues and initiate challenges. I must let this game run its course. Here's your third challenge information." Selene replied and slipped away from the group.

"What about the last challenge?" asked Andrea. "We never got our part of the key."

"It is no longer a priority for you. You must remain on course." Selene responded and left the room, leaving behind an envelope. Tyler grabbed the envelope containing the challenge clue and began to read.

The Novelist hid his manuscripts in his library, but in fear of thieves, he has trapped his entire workplace.

"To the library then." Replied Jordan and the group filed out.

-

The library was located on the second floor overlooking the gardens. In the center of the foyer, a large oak table with a single sheet of paper was placed. Lizzie grabbed the letter resting on the table.

To complete this challenge, you must solve a book riddle puzzle. You will be split into two teams of five by drawing stones. Teams must race to complete the puzzle & the losing team will be sent into a sudden death. Your first clue is Feed me and I live, yet give me a drink and I die.

"Guess we'll draw for teams." Remarked Skyler, grabbing the velvet drawstring bag off of the table. Everyone reached in and drew a rock. Skyler, Tom, Jordan, Eva and Lizzie drew red rocks and the remaining five drew green rocks.

"Good luck" said Selene as she exited the room. The clicks of keys moving into position echoed through the room. They were now locked in. The teams moved into groups on either side of the library.

"Thank god this puzzle was an easy one." Murmured Mat to Thomas as they moved around the library, in search of books about fire. The other members of their team were also searching for books. The red team was nowhere to be found.

"Only question is, there is no system to this library. How do they expect us to find anything in here?" replied Thomas.

"No idea. Just keep looking." Answered Mat. Meanwhile, the red team had also split up. Lizzie, Skyler and Tom were scouring the shelves, looking for books on fire and creating piles on some of the tables. Eva and Jordan stood guard in front of said tables. Eva seemed to be studying something and leaned over to Jordan, who was fanning through the books.

"What if we're taking this the wrong way?" she questioned.

"What do you mean?"

"Listen, we've been in here for however long, looking for and combing through books with no results. If we were on the right track, we would've found something, right?"

"You could be right except for what if the other team found it first."

"That wouldn't make any sense, that would guarantee that one team would automatically win. Look, there are different things in this room that represent fire."

Eva: So, I have Jordan as look out in case anyone comes and I go over to the candlesticks on another table. Sure enough, there are red and green ribbons around the candle holder.
