Butterflies

Courtney woke up to her irritable alarm clock she groaned and rolled on her side to look at the clock.

6:00AM

Courtney reluctantly rolled out of bed and turned off the blaring alarm clock.

She put on her slippers and went to the bathroom to warm up the water.

She hopped into the shower and relaxed as the hot water hit her back.

She lathered her hair in shampoo and smelt the fresh scent of lavender.

Once she finished her shower she dried off and brushed her teeth.

Today Courtney was wearing a black rolling stone shirt, dark ripped blue jeans, and white converses.

She combs through her hair and let her chestnut brown hair fall down onto her shoulders.

She did a light makeup look and looked at herself in the mirror and smiled at herself satisfied by her appearance.

She walked out of the bathroom and looked at the clock on her bedside table.

7:20AM

She went downstairs to the kitchen and unsurprisingly her mother was not home.

Courtneys mother works an around the clock job as a lawyer so she is almost never home to greet her in the mornings.

Courtney huffed and popped a waffle in the toaster she poared a glass of orange juice as she waited.

She popped the waffle out of the toaster and went and picked up her backpack, keys, and phone.

She got into her white Toyota Corolla and drove to her new high school.

She had butterfly's ever time she got to a stoplight like they would keep coming until she would meet her destination.

She parked her car and took a mental note to come earlier.

Once she stepped out of her car she looked up to see teens talking and running after one another.

She walked up to the front doors and opened them while she was walking through the halls she got cat called multiple times but she ignored it.

She found a girl with a blue sweatshirt and blonde hair which was pulled back into a ponytail.

"excuse me but do you know where the front office is?" Courtney asked politely as the blonde turned around to face her.

"are you new or something?".

"yeah I need my schedule".

"okay follow me".

Courtney followed close behind her as they were walking Courtney spoke up.

"i never got you name" Courtney said smiling.

"Bridgette" she smiled.

"I'm Courtney it's nice to meet you" Courtney said as she shook Bridgette's hand.

Once they arrived to the office bridge the waved goodbye and Courtney smiled.

She may have just made her first friend at the new school.

She was greeted by the woman at the front desk and the woman handed her her schedule.

"have a nice day honey" the lady said as Courtney walked towards the door.

"You too" Courtney said politely.

Courtney found her first period class and luckily Bridgette was also in her class.
