Courtney's POV

2 months later

I sighed as I got into my car and put my law school homework into the backseat.

I had planned today to go to my mothers house after law school but Duncan texted me to come over and that it was important.

Duncan rarely said anything was important so I sped to the apartment, I was worried he got in trouble with the law and I had to bail him out.

I cursed under my breath as I got every single red light and the drivers in Canada are the most reckless drivers. (not my opinion don't get offended please)

Once I arrived into the apartment I opened the door to find multiple candles lit throughout the room.

Idiot, doesn't he know this is a fire hazard?

I put my purse onto the couch and went to blow out the candles, the candles led to our bedroom I huffed and blew out the candles until I heard a noise no I can't be.. the song Duncan sang for me.

I smiled at the song and remembered coming home from law school that day to a candle lit dinner and Duncan sitting by the table waiting for me with a smile.

I followed the sound to our bedroom and then to our balcony.

I slid open the glass doors and saw Trent strumming on his guitar and singing the song Duncan sang for me.

I gave Trent a confused look and I was about to speak when a much deeper voice beat me to it.

"Courtney" Duncan said as I spun around on my heel and my skin went hot.

I saw Duncan wearing a simple black button down shirt that was tucked into a pair of khaki shorts I got him for his nineteenth birthday.

When I gave them to him he snorted and called them "golf pants" but seeing home wearing them made my face heat up.

"Courtney you look.." Duncan said as he looked at me up and down.

"Confused?" I said jokingly he smirked and shook his head.

"I was going to say beautiful" he smirked.

I looked down at my outfit I was wearing a oversized beige sweater, black yoga pants, and beige vans slip on's.

"Okay seriously what's going on?" I demanded as I crossed my arms impatiently.

He sighed and walked towards me rolling his sleeves up to his elbows is the process.

"Look Courtney I'm gonna do a little talking and your gonna do a little listening" he said seriously.

He got even closer to me and wrapped his arms around me.

I melted into the embrace and laid my head on his shoulder.

He pulled me away from his chest and looked deeply into my eyes.

"Courtney you know me better than anyone else I know and you know I'm not the best with words" he said as he nervously scratched the back of his neck.

I was wondering why he was acting so nervous, while he talked he anxiously played with a button on his shirt

"I know sometimes I may not tell you this but I love you so, so, much" he smiled.

"Duncan.." I whispered as I put my hands on his strong chest.

"We met over three years ago you hated me at first and you were just a girl I loved to tease" he smiled.

I giggled but quickly quieted down to let him continue

"You used to be a girl I loved to tease, but now.. your just the girl I love" he smiled pulling me closer to him.

"I want to grow old with you Courtney, and I want to have some little delinquents running around" I smiled at the thought.

"So Courtney.." He said as he backed away from me and dig around in his pocket.

My hands flew to my mouth when I saw him get down on one knee and pull out a small velvet box.

He opened the box and it revealed a stunning diamond ring.

"Courtney Elizabeth Barlow will you make me the luckiest son of a bitch and marry me?" he smiled.

"Oh my god.." i squeaked out as tears of happiness began to spring out of my eyes.

"Yes, yes I'll marry you!!" I said causing him to smile brightly and put the ring on my finger.

Once the ring was on I threw my arms around his neck.

He laughed and spun me around causing me to laugh and my hair to fly in all directions.

He put me down and kissed me with such passion I thought my head was going to explode.

He pulled away and looked deeply into my eyes I stared back and remembered the first time I looked into his teal eyes.

And how I fell in love immediately when I looked into them

"Umm sorry to uh- you know but- yeah I'll just leave" Trent said awkwardly as he stood up.

We broke off our intimate stare and we both looked at Trent as he grabbed his guitar case and left our apartment.

Once we heard the door close and the safety alarm beep Duncan looked at me and smirked.

"You know how else you can show me you love me?" He smirked.

"What might that be?" I purred.

"This!" Duncan said as he picked me up and put me over his shoulder and walked me to the bed.

"Put me down!" I laughed as I playfully hit his back.

"No can do babe" he smirked as he got on top of me and kissed me.

I sighed in relief as I laid my head onto Duncan's chest and melted into his warmth.

"Princess guess what?" He smirked.

"Hmmm?" I hummed as I closed my eyes.

"My dream finally came true" he smiled as he brought me up to his face.

I sat on top of him and he just stared at me smiling.

"Earth to Duncan, earth to Duncan!" I said as I waved my hand in front of his face.

He snapped out of it and continued to stare at me.

"What!?" I said irritated.

"Oh sorry, your just really pretty" he smiled looking like a love-struck fool.

I kissed him and he kissed back I broke off the kiss and laid my head back on his chest.

"Hey princess?" He smirked.

"What!" I snapped feeling my eye lids getting heavier by the second.

"I love you" he smirked.

"I love you too, now go to sleep" I smiled when I felt him vibrate in laughter.
