Chapter Twelve

The only thing I could do after reading my letter was stare at it in shock. I really hope that the score of 269 wasn't very special. I hoped one of the Weasley's had higher, so I wouldn't be on my lonesome self.

I finally realised someone was trying to gain my attention. Looking up I noticed all of them were looking at me. "Uh, yeah?" I said uncertainly, though I'm sure it came out more like a question. Charlie and Bill looked at me in worry. I noticed that Fred and George were being quiet, they were unusually pale. There ice blue eyes lacked the mischievousness and happiness that they usually lacked. "What's wrong Fred? George?" They both looked at me and pointed to their individual letters.

Mister Fred Weasley,

We can proudly state that you have been allowed into class 5-B, which is fourth year, Omega class. The classes go Alpha, Beta, Omega if you were wondering. You will need to take the end of year exams for second, third and fourth years over the course of this coming week. If you don't manage to pass the fourth year exams you will placed in 4-B or 4-A depending on the third year exams.

Your TMI has a score of 187 we have an idea that by the time you are of age your TMI will reach 250 at the least. Your current TMI class is Sorcerer (SR).

Enjoy your time left at this school,

Minerva McGonagall

P.S. Fred, I know you will probably open this with your twin, but I have to tell you first George won't be in your new class, if you reach maximum potential. We regret to inform you of this, but George will be in class 4-A. If you both want to talk about it, you are welcome to my office any time tomorrow. Second year exams don't start for two days. I'm deeply sorry. MM.

I hugged Fred as soon as I read it and then hugged George after. I felt really bad. They didn't deserve to be split up. It wasn't fair on them. They were twins. They were separate people but they spent so much time together it would be unfair to split them up over something as trivial as classes. It was absolutely horrid. I get that maybe George didn't get as many answers correct as Fred or something similar but that still wasn't fair on them. If you are going to split them up, you need to do it from first year, not second.

"Hermione. Calm down. We'll go see McGonagall tomorrow, if anything is wrong and that we will get it sorted. But if it all right I will just refuse to take the end of fourth years exams." Fred said. I gaped at him, but it was his choice so I didn't say anything.

"Do you know how tempted I am to turn Wolf and threaten them if they don't put you two together?" I asked. Everyone shook their, but not in the way of telling me they don't understand but in the way of telling me not to. "Fine. Why is your letter from Professor McGonagall?"

"Minnie was the one who cast the spell to find out our TMI." George explained. So that Tom Fletching guy he was the one who said I was family. Interesting.

"What did you guys get?" I asked Charlie and Bill desperate to help the twins.

"I'm supposed to be moving to 7 - Beta Bill said smiling slightly but also frowning. "I am however not going to. I'm going to talk with Professor Flitwick later. I want to stay in sixth year and see if I have a chance at improving what I can do already." I smiled at Bill. His decision would help him better in his life.

"I should be joining 5-A. I was told my potential showed I could be moved to 6-B but I haven't taken my O.W.L's and so this is the closest thing."

"Char if I pass them all we could be in the same class." I smiled at him. "But I think, no matter how much I might like that idea, that I might go to fourth year. I don't want to rush things. If Percy wasn't in third year I would say I would be going to that year group." It had taken a lot of thought to get this answer but if Fred and George were staying behind, then I would join them.

"You see my one problem is I won't get a full experience in school if I take the offer." Charlie said, he was thinking aloud there was no point in trying to get him to stop. "So I have decided to stay in fourth year."
