"Wait, wait, wait-" Jungkook sputtered, slapping his palm against the table as he nearly doubled over with laughter, Taehyung watching the scene in fondness. "You did what now?"

Jungkook's glittering eyes captivated Taehyung's attention, causing the older to falter a moment before letting out a breathless chuckle and repeating what he had previously said.

"I let my sister paint my nails, okay? Sue me!" Taehyung laughed, shaking his head at Jungkook's form, who was now fully doubled over as he clutched his stomach.

"W-Why?" Jungkook giggled, eyeing Taehyung's messy pink nails that had previously gone unnoticed.

Taehyung rolled his eyes and wiped his fingers on a napkin, having gotten them greasy from the pizza he had finished eating moments prior. "I guess I'm just a big teddy bear at heart." He sighed dramatically. "Oh, I'm gonna be such a pushover dad."

"That's so cute, Taehyung. There's glitter in it too-"

"That's it." Taehyung reached over to Jungkook's milkshake, scooping a little bit of the whipped cream off of the top with his index finger and wiping it onto the tip of Jungkook's nose.

Jungkook's nose scrunched up in disgust. "Asshole."

Nevertheless, he still ate the whipped cream.

"Thank you for today, Kookie." Taehyung spoke softly, leaning back against the padded bench as Jungkook wiped at his own nose with the sleeve of his shirt, clearing his nose of Reddi-Whip residue.

Jungkook smiled softly, sad and almost wistful. "Don't worry about it. I needed a breather too."

"What's up with you?" Taehyung asked quietly, looking into Jungkook's brown eyes with a caring gaze.

Jungkook shrugged, avoiding Taehyung's eyes. "The usual, I guess."

Not a lie, not the complete truth. Good job, Jungkook.

"Whatever it is, you'll get through it. You're Jungkook. You always do."

Is that really what he thinks?
