"So how was your first day at school?" My mom asks as I walk through the door.
"fine I guess" I say.
"So what kind of stuff did you learn?" "You know stuff I guess." I leave to go upstairs but she stops me.
"Did you make any friends?" She badgers.
"I did." Then I run up the stairs. I throw open the doors to my walk-in closet and tear everything off the hangers. I don't understand why they don't like my clothes; I think they're pretty enough. I walk back downstairs. "Hey mom, do you think it's okay if I maybe start shopping at Aeropostale?" She looks at me with a confused look on her face.
"Why? you never had any interest in shopping there before."
I try to sound nonchalant. "Well I guess I'm just ready for a change."
"You're not shopping at Aeropostale." I decide to put up a fight.
"Mom I asked why not?!" And stomp my foot on the hardwood floor so hard that the chandelier shakes.
"Because I said so and I'm your mother." She says firmly. "Now go do your homework before your father gets home" this shocks me so I turn around and go upstairs.
The next morning...
"Hey! Elena!" Emma calls as I walk through the doors of the classroom. I wave shyly hoping that she won't come over and try to talk to me. And she does.
