"Elena? Why in the world were you outside on the deck with no snow clothes on?" Sara's mom asks.
"Emma and Sara left me outside. They told me to go and get their iPad."
"Are you sure? They both have been looking for you everywhere; worried about you and I know for a fact that my daughter and her best friend would never do such a thing to another friend." I inside cringe at that comment.
"Come on, you need to warm up."
She takes me inside and gives me a blanket and soup.Emma and Sara eventually come into the room, I narrow my eyes at them and they look back at me with stupid innocence.
"I'm so glad we found you!" Emma exclaimed melodramatically.
I refrain from talking and keep my mouth tight and shut in a scowl.
"Come on we have to go to bed now!
It's pretty late." They both take my hands and we go to Sara's room and I lie down in my sleeping bag, I stay awake. I'm too afraid I'll wake up in the snow frost bitten or wrapped in duct tape with a gag in my mouth.I've always been the last to fall asleep, even when I had sleepovers back in Finland. Just as I'm about to drift off I hear Emma and Sara wake up.
"Do you think she's asleep yet?" Emma asks,
"Yeah I haven't seen her move."
"What an asshole, she's so clueless . It's kind of sad." Sara adds.
"Maybe Miss T is right, maybe she is mentally challenged."
"Yeah but still it's pretty hilarious to watch her be stupid."
"And she talks to much about everything," Emma says.
"Ja! In Finland we don't have that!" Emma says mimicking my accent then snickers.
"What is that? I have never had a hot dog before!" Says Sara.
"Ja I don't like the Jello!" Then they both laugh. A tear trickles down my cheek and into my mouth. I guess I really am desperate for friends because I'm staying with people who don't even respect me and seemingly never had.
