Natalie's POV
I couldn't sleep, I could feel Kelsey tossing and turning next to me. "You awake Nat" Kelsey whispered out as she poked my back. "Yeah I can't sleep." I replied sadly.
"Wanna sneak out and go to Ben's party?" Kelsey suddenly sounded excited. I turned to face her wiggling her eyebrows at me. I need this party as a distraction from the tough conversation we had earlier and it would be nice to see a certain guy. "Why the fuck not" I chuckled at her.
"Yay!!" Kelsey quietly clapped her hands. "It's a pool party by the way." She said as she chucked a bikini at me. I lightly laughed as I started to get changed. Me and Kelsey wore matching bikinis, mine in black and hers in white.

We started to laugh as we looked in the mirror. "You're the sister I never had kels" I whispered out as we finished laughing. Kelsey wrapped her arms around me giving me a warm hug. "You are my sister Nat." She kissed my cheek. "I just need the toilet before we go." I quickly say before I walk into her bathroom. I look in the mirror at the bruises that still covered my body. Sighing, I grabbed Natalie's foundation and started to cover them up the best I could. When I was done I glanced into the mirror satisfied with the coverage. Maybe if I keep pretending I'm okay, one day I won't have to pretend anymore. A sad smile reached my lips as I walked back out to Kelsey.
"It's not as high as it looks I promise." She said before she vanished. I ran over to the window and looked down. There stood Kelsey looking up at me from the ground smiling and signalling for me to follow.
I climbed out of her bedroom window quietly as possible. I climbed down the pale blue wooden frame that had vines intertwined. It looked peaceful in the moon light. I looked to the ground and jumped the last bit landing gracefully. In my head. In reality, I tumbled to the ground gaining a mouthful of grass in the process. A burst of laughter erupted by my side as Kelsey uncontrollably laughed. I suddenly reached my hand out and pull her to the ground, causing me to laugh as she groaned out in pain.
Tears of laughter started pouring down our cheeks as suddenly the porch light lit up. "Shit run!" Kelsey half whispered and half yelled at me. We got to our feet within seconds and started to run for our lives. "Who's there?" A voice echoed behind us, causing us to pick up our pace.
The adrenaline pulsing through my body as the wind blew through my hair sending a light shiver down my body. Everything around me looked so peaceful. The moon light had a way of making everything seem enchanted.
I suddenly stopped running but not quick enough as I crashed into a wide eyed screaming Kelsey. We both collapsed to the floor laughing again.
"Red lips?" "Babe?" We both look up to see Cole towering over me and Ben looking down to Kelsey. Which only sends us into more fits of laughter. Cole reaches out his hand and helps me up and Ben helps Kels. I look up to realise we were right outside bens house, the light sound of music thudding from his garden in the distance.
"Missed me Kovalsky?" I wink at Cole and link my arm with his. "More than you could ever imagine" he laughed lightly kissing my cheek. I glanced over to Ben and Kelsey who's eyes are glued on each other, their hands interlocked and walking in sync. They looked truly in love with each other, a hint of jealousy hit my stomach.
We soon reached Bens house and walked in straight through to his back garden. It was huge. There was a massive swimming pool filled with people from school, inflatables and plastic red cups. To the right side of it was a jacuzzi and on the left side was a decking with a table full of food and alcohol, even their own bar with bar stools was placed near by. Fairy lights hung up around the garden making it light up and seem magical, huge speakers placed each end of the garden blasting out music. Everyone's eyes landed on us as we walked through.
I chucked my jacket onto the floor and felt Cole's gaze land on my body. Within seconds I was engulfed into a tight hug and launched into the pool. The freezing cold water stinging my body with the impact. Shit, I didn't want to go in the pool, now the make up will start to come off. When we both reappeared out of the water I didn't give Cole a second to look at me before I darted out and grabbed my jacket covering myself.
"What the fuck Cole?" I growled out as he approached me. "What? I thought you looked hot and needed to cool down" he pouted out innocently. I stormed back into the house not looking back.
"I'm okay, I'm okay, I can do this" I whispered to myself as I ran my fingers through my hair leaning on the cold breakfast bar. "Red lips?" Cole whispered softly suddenly behind me.
I didn't know what to say to him so I remained silent. Without warning he spun me around to face him making me gasp in shock. I tried to cover my bruised body but was too late. The dull kitchen lights lit up every ounce of my body, not only revealing the bruises but how broken and tired I was, Cole's eyes glazed over with pure anger.
"Who the fuck did this to you Natalie" Cole's voice full of anger. I took a step back from him and tried to cover my body up more with my jacket. "Leave me alone Cole." I growled back just as aggressive.
"No, fucking tell me and don't give me some bullshit excuse this time" Cole spat at me. "Why? Why the fuck should I?"I shouted back.
"Natalie, just tell me who did this now!" He yelled in my face. "Stop pretending to care about me. I never asked you to save me and I don't need saving I can save my damn self. I'm not some fucking little girl, I know what I'm doing I can look after myself." My voice getting louder and angrier with every word. He can't see me vulnerable again."Well clearly you can't look after yourself, look at you, fucking look at yourself. Someone's hurting you and you don't have the balls to tell me, so stop making out you are this bad bitch when in fact you are just a scared little girl." Cole's voice as loud as mine. His words shot straight through my heart, making me almost break all over again.
"I never want to see you or speak to you ever again, I wish I'd never met you. I wish you'd never saved me." I tried to yell but it came out as a whisper as a tears started to pour. I grabbed a bottle of vodka on the side and sprinted for the door.
"Wait red lips come back, I didn't mean wh-" Cole's voice softened but I quickly interrupted his bullshit. "Fuck you Cole!" I yelled out as I slammed the door.

Cole's POV
"Fuck fuck fuck" I mumbled out as I watched Natalie slam the door. What the hell did I just do. I groaned and learn against the wall in frustration. "Alright mate?" Ben asked as he approached my side.
"I've just messed up big time" I sigh out. Ben saw the hurt in my eyes before saying "go after her then? You clearly like her and for whatever reason you're both trying to push each other away all the time." I looked up to a smiling Ben, he always gets cocky when he knows he's right.
"You didn't see her face, she never wants to talk to me again." I say exhausted. Ben chucks a beer at me. "I'll go grab Kels and get her to go after her, I'll kick everyone out, then us four can chill by the fire for a while. Sound good?" Ben looked at me in suspense waiting for my reply.
"Sounds perfect, thank you, honestly who'd thought you'd be the one to be wise" I teased as I punched him lightly in his arm. He winced "ow Cole, think you just punctured my bicep, now how the hell am I meant to impress Kels" Ben groaned out rubbing his arm. "You're so dramatic" I chuckle out and walk out with him to find Kelsey.
