The Shark And The Mermaid

CHAPTER 1

   Surge dodge the teeth of his opponent. Turning fast, he smacked the tiger shark with his fin. As the tiger shark fell unconscious, four of his friends appeared from behind the sunken navy ship.

   Surge, a great white, knew he was outnumbered. Having nowhere to swim to get away, he was completely bombarded by the thugs.

   The prince could only try to survive at the four sharks bit and thrashed at him. His red eyes glazed over as he sank to the ocean floor.

   Grace was swimming along, singing a song, while collecting shells. her bright yellow and green hair flowing in the current. Her brilliant blue eyes would sparkle with every new shell she found.

   Grace was usually aware of her surroundings, but today, she got so caught up with all the shells she was finding, she wondered right into shark territory.

   She was prying open a clam as a snack, when she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. So Grace dropped the clam, to get a closer look.

   As she got closer, she discovered it was a great white shark. he was badly injured, with bites and cuts all over his body. Grace became frightened as she realized she entered shark territory.

   However she felt she could not just leave the poor creature there to die. seeing the sunken ship, she grabs hold of the shark the best she could, and dragged him to the ship.

   She pulled him through an old missile hole in the side of the vessel. as soon as she got him settled in, Grace heads out in search of ferns to patch the shark up with.

   When she returned to him, Grace starts to work, weaving the ferns together to wrap around his wounds. It took all of an hour to patch him up.

   After getting his wounds all wrapped up, Grace empties her satchel of shells, and goes out again in search of food. She manages to collect some medical herbs, and a  some shrimp.

   When she returns to the shark, she hears him stir a little.
