The next morning, Grace woke up the find the shark staring at her. He was the first to speak.

"So can I at least know the name of my nurse?" he asked in a deep voice.

"Um...I'm Grace" she replied.

"Hmm, a beautiful name for a surprisingly beautiful mermaid" He said. "Oh I am Surge by the way." He added

At hearing his name, Grace knew he was the prince of the sharks. She bowed her head to him, and said "nice to meet you, your highness"

Surge scoffed at the way she was showing her respect. "If it was not for you, I would most likely be dead by now. With that being said, I believe we are past formal titles. Please, Just call me Surge."

Grace looked up at him to see him giving her a sincere smile. "oh...Um okay. Thank you, um...Surge"

After the introductions, Grace started checking his bandages, and changing out the ones that needed it. Concentrating on her work, she was startled at the  sound of his voice. "how long do you think it will be before I can swim on my own again?" he asked her.

With a small yelp from being startled, Grace answered, "I would have to guess tree, maybe four days. The wounds are pretty deep, but nothing vital was hit. If you don't mind me asking, how did you end up in such condition."

Surge frowned at her question, but answered anyways. "A tiger shark challenged me to a battle. I don't know why I actually though he would be fair about it, tiger sharks are such thugs. After I beat him, four of his friends came out of nowhere, and I was outnumbered. "

While listening to his story, Grace couldn't help but to feel bad for Surge. When she was done with the bandages, she run her hand down his leathery fin saying, "I'm sorry that happened to you"

Surge gave her a weak smile, as she started mixing some more herbs for him.

When Grace was done mixing, she put the bowl aside and said to Surge, "I am going to collect some food." Then she disappeared out of the hole.
