The Alpha Can Wait

Chapter 5

" I'm home, home!" After the things that
happened today I really just want to go an run. Zara was able to take me home yet she said she couldn't run with me. She wanted to see her see secret boyfriend or whatever, so I'll just run by myself.

Running gives me time to think about things and imagine I'm with the betas and alphas going to war. Fighting for my pack with everyone supporting me.

Is that weird?

I walk to the back patio door, that faces the north side of the woods, and look around the area.

Good, no one's near.

Omegas aren't allowed to leave to the forest without a slip.

It's like getting a pass to go to the bathroom.

I strip my clothes until I'm stark in the afternoon air. The sky is slowly changing and the sun's warmth fades behind the tree-line. I start running straight to the forest and shift to my wolf. My black short hair forms into my fur, my brown eyes change to silver.

I howl as the crisp air encircles my frame.

This is great!

I feel wild and free like the Forever 21 shirts say. I increase my speed and the smell of ocean water invades my nose.The air becomes thick with salt. I keep running, banging into some trees to reach my destination, until a clearing appears, stopping abruptly at a mountain's edge.

The moon's now out so I howl right by the edge of the cliff. Here you go humans! There's another wolf siting!

'What are you doing here' I get a mind link and suddenly feel a presence from behind.

Turning my head, a wolf with dirty blonde fur and yellow eyes glares at me, eating up my confidence from before.

Its an alpha, alpha Eli.

'Alpha'

Oh hell, he's going to turn me in for this.

I slowly back away, my hind to the edge of the cliff, that drops into the raging waters below.

If I fall, I can't say Jaws killed me, but my own Alpha.

'I asked why you're here' He snarls at me showing his canines, his strength. I bow my head at him for respect and out of my nature.

Omega life.

'I'm sorry Alpha, I'll leave'

'You're following me aren't you?!'

What following him? Well yes in pack terms but I wasn't stalking him. In fact, wouldn't it be the other way around? I was here first!

Dick.

'No I just needed to run'

'You can't just run, there are things going on.We don't need Omegas to get hurt' He fires back boring a hole in me.

I'm not that helpless. What are these "things" anyways? What, you don't have complete control over everyone right this second? We're transitioning to a new leader, wait ass.

Things won't go as planned right away.

'You'll never just realize. I don't want you hurt, Hana'

M wolf whines when I hear my name, crying out to hear them form again.

'How do you know my-'

He starts running my way and pushes me down on my back, stopping me mid sentence. My head lays on the edge of the cliff.

Ugh, he's heavy! I can barely breathe with this amount of dog on me.
