Chapter 1

Koolie

It's a sunny day. And everyone is busy walking around the halls, probably searching for their respective classrooms. Well it's the first day of school anyway.

The halls are crowded, that's making me so sweaty because of the heat. Summer is almost over, but the sun still shines at it's best.

As I walk on the hallway, some students greeted me and some just smiled. I greeted them in return.

I looked at my wrist watch to see that there's only 45 minutes left before my first class. So I doubled my speed towards our office.

If only I woked up early, then maybe I'm almost done with paper works by now. I thought.

My co-officers greeted me, when I entered the office.

Pinky the SSC Secretary and my friend came to hug me.

"Koolie! I missed you, how's your one week vacation?" She laughed. I rolled my eyes.

Remembering that we only had one week vacation made me wanna sulk.

"Bitin!" I replied, I then walk towards my table with tons of paper work waiting for me. Goodness gracious.

"Mine too. Kung sana medyo mahaba lang ang bakasyon natin edi sana galing na akong Bangkok." Pinky whined as she sat in front of my table.

"Atleast we had one. Ako nga kahit sabihing vacation yun, I didn't even had time for myself. Tumulong ako sa kumpanya ni dad." I said while scanning the papers in front of me.

"Wait what?! Oh my god, Kool!" She over reacted.

"Hey hey hey. What's happening here?" Freya the SSC Vice President, also my friend and my neighbor.

"Frey totoo? Did Kool waste her one week in her dad's company?" She asked with wide eyes. I chuckled.

Freya just smiled and nodded.

"No way!" She gasped.

"Pinky, you're over reacting. I just thought na one week without doing something would be boring. So I decided to help. Yun lang." I reasoned.

"Oh no, don't fool us Kool. I know— we know, that you're just keeping yourself busy because of that jerk." She stared at me. I looked at Freya asking for help but she just shrugged.

"No it's—" she cut me off.

"Alam mo, simula nung umalis siya, you lost yourself. We, your friends understand you, pero noon yun. It's been what? It's been 5 months Koolie. If he wants to come back then he will. Pero please don't be like this, you're not you anymore." Gone the noisy and bubbly Pinky, I am now staring at a concern and serious friend.

Freya sighed as they look at me.

"I miss him." I whispered.

"We know."

Before Pinky could say something again the bell rang. I sighed and arranged the papers on my desk.

The three of us are from the same class, we are all taking BSBA.

We silently entered the classroom. Wala pa yung teacher. Agad naman kaming sinalubong nina Ryshie at Gwen.

"Oh? Bat ang tahimik niyo ata?" Gwen asked.

Pinky leaned over to whisper pero rinig parin naman namin.

"I opened up about her ex."

Gwen's mouth turned into "o" shaped as she looked at me. And the laughed awkwardly.
