Ch.6- Illness and scars

Shu P.O.V.

I was sound asleep when I felt Lilia toss and turn restlessly. Opening my eyes I saw that Lilia was on her back, her cheeks were red and her breathing was raspy. Sitting up I placed my hand on her forehead, she was burning up worse when she first got here. I was about to move my hand away when I felt my hand pulled toward her cheeks. Looking down I saw Lilia head was snuggled into my hand as she hummed sweetly. This caught me off guard, yet I couldn't pull away. It wasn't until Reiji came in turning the light on causing Lilia to stir and cough loudly making me worried more for her.

Reiji: "How despicable... To be in the same bed as a young woman..."

Glaring at him I slowly moved my hand away from Lilia very warm face. I slid out of bed and turning the light out in the room before pushing my ignorant younger brother out of the room.

Reiji: "You insignificant waste of space how dare-"

Shu: "Shut up and for one who hold their pride with manners on a pedestal. You of all people forgotten how to knock." Giving me a deepened glare Reiji cleared his throat.

Reiji: "Well, the both of you still have school so I suggest you get her up."

He was about to turn and leave when he heard Lillia began to cough uncontrollably.  He immediately stop and  sighed with displeasure before speaking again.

Reiji: "Shu, leave. I will be staying here with miss Silvans." Giving Reiji hard glared I grab the door handle doing my best to not wake her.

Shu: "No I'll ask Subaru.. "

Reiji: "Miss Silvans would be up set with you for skipping school. Now head down stairs and I will stay with her and tend to her needs." Gritting my teeth I turn my gaze towards him.

Shu: "If you harm her in any shape or form... I will make sure you will regret your entire existence." I said with a glare before leaving the room.

Lilia's P.O.V.

I felt shu's presance leave as well as his cold touch.Only to be replaced with unbearable hot discomfort again. I then heard talking but I couldn't make out what was being said. I was about to call out, but it was replaced with a coughing fit. I then heard a sigh from someone. then I heard some storm off. I tried to sit up only for someone to gently push me down. Then I felt some place their cold hand on forehead. Opening my eyes slowly I saw it was Reiji.

Reiji: "Hm, it seems you caught a cold because of that deadbeat drinking to much from you. Miss Silvans I suggest you rest. I will be back with some medications to quell you fever." He said in irration. He removed his had but before he could leave I grabbed his the tail end of his coat causing him to stop.

Lillia: "Please don't worry about me. I would hate for you to use your herbs on someone as worthless," *Cough*, "as me." I said in a raspy voice. He gave me curious look before speak again.

Reiji: "Nonsense, you are our prey. We can't have you dying on us." He said  grabbing my wrist and walking out of the room. Letting my hand drop to my side I slowly fell back to sleep .

Reiji's P.O.V.

Once I was in my lab I began to gather the material for Miss Silvans medicine. As I was gathering the ingredients,  began to measure the right amounts, and finally using the mortar and pestle to grind them into a fine paste before pouring the mixture into a mesh strainer. I then poor warm water over the mixture slowly.  As I was finishing up I began to wonder why Shu and Subaru had become close to Miss Silvans with in the short amount of time she has been here. Shu is extremely closer to her more than any sacrificial brides that had entered this house. very strange indeed.

With the potion finished I quickly clean up and then made my way back to Miss Silvans room. I walked in to see her struggling to breath. Rushing over to her side I could tell she tried to speak but instead only small gasps came.

Reiji: "Shh, calm down." I said as I tried slowly sitting her put and bag to rub her back in which caused her face to contort causing her to stop hyperventilating.  Immediately removing my hand and I eyed her curiously. What would cause her to...Shaking my head, I refocus at the task at hand I asked her a question.

Reiji: "Are you able to take this now?" I said moving away from her and grabbing the potion off the nightstand. Look at me, she quickly nodded as she was still shaking with something I could only say was fear. Taking the small bottle from me she quickly down it without a second thought. My....she didn't even hesitate. Is she that naive. Soon as she placed the bottle on the nightstand, she look directly at me and smile.

Lilia: "Thank you, Reiji. In the future could you please....not touch my back..."

Reiji: " And why is that?"

Lilia: " im sorry if I sound rude, but I'm still healing from...what that man had... done to me..." She said crossing her arms infront of her chest. Narrowing my eyes at her my irritation began to grow.

Reiji: " Might I have look?" I asked her. She glanced at me for a second before turning her back to me. I was surprised by this. Why wasn't she freaking out or more importantly saying no.

Lilia: "Are you going to check my wounds or not?" she said impatiently. Normally I would punish her for rudeness, but my curiosity out weighed my anger. Lifting her t shirt over head where the sleaves where only thing covered shoulders blades. There was white medical wrap beneath her shoulder blades to a cubic meter before her tailbone bone. The smell of her dried blood was still evident. Opening the side drawer to the nightstand I grabbed a pair of silver handle scissors. With the scissors I began to cut away the old medical wrap to reveal dark red and brown scabs of what look like stab marks. At that moment I could see her trembling at the memories  of the man who done this seem to rewind in her mind. I felt something. Something I wasn't sure of what it was...pity...no no...more like Simpithy...no no that can't be right she just a pathetic mortal how can I feel something such as that. Let alone towards a lowly human. Going back to the nightstand I found the medical wrap and rewraped her bandages before telling her to redress herself.

Reiji: "Miss Silvans, I suggest you go back to sleep you should be feeling better by tomorrow." I said leaving the room before anymore was said. But, I have to admit she is very interesting.
