Chapter 11: "You found me."
They've been driving for hours. I'm scared. Finally, at six at night they stop. They broke my phone fours ago and left it at a rest stop. They rip off the blindfold and untie my hands and shove me out of the car. They take off, leaving me alone and stranded at six at night.
I don't even know where I am.
DRAKE'S POV
I can't find my goddamn phone anywhere and I need to tell Ali so she doesn't think she's mad at me, so I go and drive to her house.
I ring the doorbell, and seconds later, Noah rips open the door, his face creased with worry. He pushes me out of the way and looks behind me.
"She's not with you?" he yells.
"Who? Ali? No!" I yell back. Mrs. James comes rushing to the door.
"Drake." She whispers. "Ali isn't with you?"
"No, I haven't seen her since after the game yesterday." I say.
Mel comes up behind her with Gwen. Gwen is crying, and Mel looks worried.
They grab my arms and yank me in the door. There's a police officer here, and even Ali's Dad is here, and her Aunt Cara.
"Drake." Aunt Cara says. "Where the hell is my niece?"
"I don't know!" I say. The woman is crazy. She looks worried, and keeps checking her white Samsung Galaxy s5. "What's going on?"
"Ali snuck out last night around three in the morning and she hasn't come back yet." Mr. James says.
I stare at them. "So she's-"
"At two in the morning, she'll be a missing person."
"Son, are you her boyfriend?" the officer asks. I nod. "Is there anyone you can think of that would take Ali? Everyone says you're the only person she would sneak out with."
"That's true." I say quietly. "Let me think please."
I'm quiet for a while, thinking hard.
No, nobody would touch my girl. They know they would become extinct if they did.
Except...
It's like a punch in the face. Ali was at the game. Those three stupid fucking asshole cunt nerds that cut her arms up were there too. I remember one of them getting off the bleachers and then I vaguely remember during half time, the guy game back and the three of them high fived and I saw them looking at Ali.
Mrs. James gets on the phone and I runs my fingers through my hair.
When she gets off the phone, I don't say a word.
I can imagine it. Those sick bastard texting Ali with my phone. They talked her into sneaking out. They took my girl.
"If you know something Drake, you need to speak up." Mr. James says, crossing his arms.
"My phone's gone." I say.
"So?" the cop asks.
"That has nothing to do with-" Aunt Cara begins.
"She would never sneak out without being talked into it! I'm the only one that can talk her into it!"
Silence.
"And you didn't." Mel runs her fingers through her hair.
"No. I've been with the guys since the game." I say. "So I'm going to take a wild guess and say whoever stole my phone stole Ali."
