It was a struggle.

The dark abyss you seemed to float through was soon vanishing from around you. You could feel your body laid upon a mattress, wires connecting all along your body with pads stuck to your skin at nerve points. Two rods were held in place at your temples by a machine as you laid unmoving upon a hospital-style bed.

Where you were was unclear, but as your eyes gradually began to open, the black faded to white and the hospital room you were in was beginning to pixelate into existence.

A shadowy figure was sat by your bed, it's head laid upon your intertwined hands. His hair was soft. It was nice, peaceful even, as if all what you had gone through had never really happened. It was then a sharp pain shot through your mind and a groan escaped your lips, your action causing the shadow to lift its head.

He immediately let go, almost afraid of you waking. He then abruptly stood after a second of staring, running out of the room to God knows where.

After a few minutes, what looked like nurses and doctors came rushing in. They checked the machines around you, muffled discussion going between them.

"Stable... give injection... Athena... to Calypso... return her."

The words weren't clear but that's what you could make out from the voices. And just as your vision was beginning to clear and as you caught a glimpse of your lover a sharp pain pricked at your arm before you found yourself drowned in darkness once again.
