Chapter 4

There was this one guy that I knew was different from all the rest. I had this weird connection with him that I hadn't had with anyone else. He could be a complete ass at times, but he had his sweet and kind side. His name was  Floyd and he had this kind of Justin Bieber hair cut, but he was one of those people that could pull it off. When he had free time all he would do is show off.

I didn't really like him when I first met him, but that all changed. The day right after homcoming Floyd started coming over which I thought was a little weird. I hadn't had much experience with hanging out with boys let alone dating one. I started helping him with his math homework, which he really didn't need any help with. My mom realized that he had a crush on me, but she didn't tell me. It went like that ever school day for about a few months.

This girl in my drama class, Krystal, assumed that I liked him, which I didn't at the time, but it didn't help that she was dating him. Towards the end of November, in Social Studies, Krystal asked Floyd out for me. He had been single for a while, but that didn't mean I wanted to date him at the moment. I had never had a boyfriend before and didn't know anything of being in a relationship. After school that day Floyd came over and we worked on our math homework. He asked my mom to come down stairs, so he could ask her a question. Floyd asked her if he could date. My mom said yes and went back upstairs. Once my mom got upstairs, he asked me out and I said yes.

During Christmas break, I was talking to his best friend, Bruce. He was named after Hulk, if you can't tell. He wasn't as attractive as my boyfriend was, but was still pretty cute. I was talking to Bruce because I didn't want to deal with my cousins. While I was talking to him, my feelings for him went from only being friends to me having a small crush on him. I knew that having a crush on him was wrong, but it wouldn't go away and talking to him made it worse.

After Christmas break I told Krystal, who was my best friend at the time, that I had a crush on Bruce. It was a really bad idea to tell her that. About a week after I told her, she told Floyd. When she told him, I could tell that he really hated it. He asked me why and the only thing I could come up with was shrugging my shoulders. After Philip asked me that I wanted to run to the bathroom and go cry, but I didn't. A couple weeks went by and I had noticed that he was hanging out with her more than he was me.

I was standing by the front doors of the school waiting for my friends to get here when Bruce came over by me and showed me a text from Floyd. It pretty much said that he wanted to break up with me. As soon as I read it I wanted to cry my eyes out, but I didn't. During breakfast that morning, I ignored Floyd. After lunch, I gave back the ring that he had given me, which pretty much ended things between us. I felt really guilty for me having a crush on Bruce, but I can't control who I have a crush on. Later that night Bruce, my crush, asked me out. I told him no, but he kept on asking me out nonstop for about a week. About a week after the break up, I finally said yes to him. I only dated him because Krystal said that dating someone else would help you get over your ex, but that didn't work. I still had feelings for Floyd no matter how many times I dated his Bruce.
