“I told you I was sorry, geez move on.” Eve rolled her eyes at my snappy comment. The moment I had stepped in the car she started complaining about my melt down yesterday.
“I had to hear it from my mom, and to top it all of you acted like nothing was wrong when I was around. How do you want me to believe that we’re still besties.” The way she said besties annoyed me but I shook it off. Eve is probably the biggest drama queen of all time.
“Eve calm your tits, it was the moment you left that I felt it. I didn’t know what was going on I just broke.” Yes this was my genius explanation of why I was crying on the floor last night, I told my mom I had a melt down and everything just felt wrong at that moment. Luckily my foolish mom believed everything I said, it was hard thought lying to everyone and I really didn’t needed my mom telling Laurel, Eve’s mom. It made it all harder than it already was. The fact that I had lied to my mom and my best friend for twice this week, made my heart ache. See I’m not a bad person at all, I just have my days and they happen to be every day at school.
“I’m not a really bad person am I?” I blurted out before I could realize how stupid it must have sound.
Eve looked at me confused and then started laughing, very loud I must add.
“You okay over there? Where did that came from? I told you I had already forgiven you.” Eve talked with pauses but I stayed silent. I was mentally throwing my head against a wall, how the heck am I going to talk myself out of this.
“EARTH TO BELLE.” A hand came in my vision and it snapped me out of my thoughts.
“I was thinking what if Ades doesn’t likes me anymore, just because I have been a bitch, according to half the school, this year. I mean what if he can see that I’m not the cool, chill, funny and sweet belle anymore.” I said staring at the road ahead. I was still mentally throwing my head against a wall this time for the most stupid answer I ever gave, like Ades would care about that. I know I don’t care about what people think and I know Eve knows that. That’s the reason why the car was suddenly filled with hard laughter’s coming from my left side. I rolled my eyes as I saw tears running down Eve’s cheek.
“You. Are. So. Funny.” After every word she said she needed to catch extra breath so she wouldn’t suffocate.
“You’re a bitch.” I awkwardly shifted around in the passenger seat as I let my hands play with the hem of my shirt. I was feeling the urge to laugh with her but I needed to win this battle. I am not to make fun off.
After five minutes of hard laughter’s with brief pauses from Eve and awkward noises coming from my side, Eve pulled up on the parking lot at Starbucks.
“Can we just forget I said anything?” I said to Eve as I closed the car door, leaning over the car to support myself. She stared at me with tear stains on her cheek, thanks to the crying of laughter. She slowly nodded her head and started walking towards the entrance of Starbucks. I looked around three times but Ades wasn’t here, Eve on the other hand was already in line waving at me to follow. I regained my power and walked over to her.
“I still don’t get why you still have that crush on him.” She turned around looking at the menu the moment I was close to her. I shook my head and scraped my throat.
“Got a problem with the fact that I am able to like straight guys?” I wanted to see the look on her face right now but I didn’t move one bit knowing she would look pissed.
“Hey. I would like a medium black coffee.” Eve said leaning forward on the counter to make sure she was understood, she somehow hated to repeat things. If you ask her if she could repeat what she said she will just rudely refuse it. The man behind the counter tapped some things away on his cash register and Eve shot me a dirty glance as she waited for the man to give her, her cash back. I laughed in myself as the cashier awkwardly gave Eve her money back. The moment she walked away to wait for her coffee on the other end of the counter the man gave me a smile ready to take my order. I looked at him and stopped at his smile, those lips there was something about them then I met his eyes. They were blue probably the brightest blue you could get them in.
“Uhm I would like a Medium cappuccino, for here please.” I shifted from my right leg to my left leg trying to study the boy closely. I heard the door open and someone walk in, in the back of my head but I was to occupied figuring out who this guy was. I gave the guy the money without listening to the price, I already know how much it was. The guy tapped away on his cash register again and I waited for my money, slowly coming back to earth.
Out of the sudden I felt two arms around my waist and I let out a shriek of shock as the cashier in front off me looked at me uncomfortable holding out the change.
“Put me down, put me down.” I yelled the moment my feet lost touch with the floor. I felt someone’s breath in my neck making every hair on my body stand up. I tried to squirm out of the grip but the arms were too strong and a little bit too tight for my pleasure.
“I think I’m about to throw up.” I said feeling my stomach contents being pushed up my throat. I shook my head trying to hold it back, luckily for me I managed quite well to not spill a thing of my breakfast on the Starbucks floor.
“Why does my beautiful best friend welcome me so heartless.” I heard the familiar voice of Ades close to my ear, creating a smile on my face.
“Because my handsome best friend made it very hard for me to react positive to his unpleasant surprise.” I said to him with my back still facing him, something inside me didn’t want to see his face. Scared of disappointment and scared of falling even harder. Though I gathered all my confidence and turned towards him.
“Long time no see.” I said before I looked at him. But the moment I laid eyes on him my mouth dropped his arms were muscular, his always messy brown hair was put in model with gel and his blue eyes were even brighter than before. I was stunned to be honest, there was just nothing left of the shy nerd I knew. He was replaced by this mister perfect.
“Don’t go steeling my line girl.” He said looking at me from head to toes, I’m happy with myself so I wasn’t afraid of what he was thinking. I laughed at him and looked over his shoulder to see a confused Eve signing something, I mouthed ‘I don’t understand’ at her but she just kept going. Before I realized Ades had turned around and was walking over to the weird girl standing awkwardly between two tables.
“Who are you.” Eve screamed as Ades grabbed her in his arms and held her tight. I stood there awkwardly laughing at the two of them. There were a few people in the café also staring and laughing at the two of them as Ades was yelling how much he loved her and Eve still was screaming ‘who are you’ and then you have me standing there as an outcast.
“Could you try and do something about the two lovebirds.” The cashier was handing me my coffee as he said it, I felt a sting of jealousy but I shook it off and nodded politely at the man.
“It has been enough guys, I know you missed each other but I’m also part of this friendship.” I said as I walked over to the two of them holding my coffee carefully. Eve had finally pulled herself from Ades as she was looking at him from head to toe, she looked like a fool with her mouth open. Then I realized that I probably looked exactly the same when I saw him, and again I was mentally throwing my head against a wall.
“I’m so confused.” Eve was holding one hand on her head and the other one was gently placed on her hip. Ades turned to me and smiled widely and then turned back to Eve. I mouthed to her the word ADES like four times before she finally got it. Then she looked again at him from head to toe.
“What did you do with yourself? You look great!” She exclaimed. Ades started laughing hard and I walked past Eve with my coffee towards the table she had set her coffee at, while I walked past her I slammed her on the back of her head letting her know how stupid she was being. And she turned around towards me immediately.
“That was not needed.” She said as she followed me to the table. Ades had walked over to the counter to get something I assume.
“Yes it was, you were drooling all over Ades.” I said to her sipping from my cappuccino. She rolled her eyes at me and then got the biggest smile on her face.
“You’re jealous aren’t ya? I mean cause of that hug action that was going on over there between me and Ades.” She smiled realizing she had figured it out. She hadn’t though, I wasn’t jealous at all I somehow got the feeling that my crush isn’t real anymore. Maybe I was crushing on the old Ades and now that he’s mister perfect I realize he’s not what I want. I’m confused by myself and Eve’s evil laughter’s coming from besides me doesn’t make things any better.
“Just shut your mouth stupid.” I said looking at Ades who was talking to the cashier.
