*the next day*

~•May's POV•~

So we just got to school. And Riles and I walk into our history class, we're late. It's the class where her dad is our teacher. Then our friend, Farkle trades places for minute with Mr. Matthews.

"Riley is the sun, warm and bright and lights up my whole day. May is the night dark and mysterious. And the night has always been a mystery to me because I go to bed at 7:30. How can I love them? How can I not? Thank you I am Farkle." And with that Farkle sat back in his seat. Then Mr. Matthews went back to teaching. When a new student walked in. Who? You might ask. Lucas Friar. Aka cute guy. Riley whispers to me, "subway boy". He sits behind her. I think to myself, so he does go to our school I might have a friend to make fun of after all. Then Mr. Matthews goes on with the lesson. He says, "First I'd like you to turn to page 48, now I want you to turn to page 1. Now I'd like you to read from page 1-48." Everyone groans. Then he says "For tonight's assignment I'd like you to write me a three page essay on anything, anything at all that you believe in so strongly you'd fight for it."

~•Riley's POV•~

Then all of a sudden May goes, "That! I'd fight for no homework, I come her everyday why can't you teach me everything I need to know while I'm here?" Then I go, "Whoo!" Then dad gives me a confused face and I go, "not whoo." Then May says to the class, "He gets out days, let's take back our nights. No homework! More freedom! Who's with me?" Then she starts a chant. "No homework, more freedom, no homework, more freedom, no homework, more freedom, no homework, more freedom." Then she turns to me while everyone is chanting, and says, "This is it kid, still wanna be like me? Stand up." I stand up. Dad says, "watcha doing?" I say "I'm making a choice about who I want to be, about whose world I want it to be." He says, "I know you, you know exactly who you are." I say, "then who am I?" He replies with, "you're just like me." So I say, "would you do this then?" And I start chanting. "No homework, more freedom, no homework more freedom." Then I see Farkle and say, "Farkle are you with us or not?" Then I see him get up before we all leave the room without him, chanting into the halls, he looked so confused. He was like, "My education, or my women? My education, or my women? My education, or my women?" Then he was fainting and said, "oh it's happening again, sir" and dad caught him.

*later at home*

When me and my dad get home. As soon as I get in the door I yell, "MA!" Then dad comes in and yells "MA!" Then mom says, "whatever this is don't put me in the middle of the two people that I love equally just kidding come here honey" and she gives me a hug. Then dad tells here about our little protest against homework in school today. Then my mom says, "why would you wanna be May?" And I say, "cuz she's cool, she has a wild side, she does what she wants." Then mom says, "But you're such a good person." And I'm like, "who cares about that? Did you really think I'm one of those girls who follows all the rules and never gets into trouble?" Then dad says, "I was hoping." And I respond saying, "you think I'm well raised?" Mom then says, "Half." And I respond with, "how important is it that you don't know me at all?" Then I sit with my little brother, Auggie in my bayside window. And I say, "Am I the type of person who always plays it safe? Is this who I'm going to be for the rest of my life? Am I ever going to take a risk that changes my destiny?" Then Auggie goes, "Do birds know how to smile? Why is cake always so delicious? Will my drawings ever get any better?" So I say, "Are you making fun of me?" And Auggie says, "No, I think just like you because we're twins." Then he smiles. He's such a cute little brother. But why does he think we're twins? Probably because he's only 5 years old. But I don't want him thinking we're twins forever so I say, "We're not twins." Then he gets upset and runs away screaming "MAAA-AAA!"
