AN: THIS WON'T HAPPEN IN ALL CHAPTERS BUT IN THIS ONE WE CAN ONLY KNOW CALUM'S THOUGHTS, NO ONE ELSE!!!!!! STILL IN THIRD PERSON

as soon as calum walked through his plain white door and into his poster covered room, he noticed something, well, how should he put it? out of the ordinary? weird? not normal? flat out scary? any would work.

now he wasn't sure, but the last time calum had checked there weren't two creatures about half his size floating in his room with a sign that read 'congratulations!' in big, purple, glittery, bold print. not to mention that they had little crowns floating right above their heads, and sticks with stars in their hand. 'what the literal heck?!'

“who the heck are you?!” calum squeaked, his voice coming out small and quiet, just like it did when he was younger.

“the best thing to ever happen to you.” the green haired on said, smirking.

“shut up michael, we’re your fairy godparents.” the blonde one said, rolling his eyes and shoving 'michael' in the shoulder, before turning his attention back to calum.

"f-fairy g-godparents?" he asked, voice shaking and cracking, just like it did when he was going through puberty. and calum did not want to go back to that.

"more like fairy gayparents. i mean, look at your tutu luke. and it's not like we're the definition of straight." michael chuckled out, pulling at luke's pink tutu with his middle and pointer fingers. again, 'luke' shoved him.

'so the blonde one's luke. vegetable over here is michael. got it.' calum thought to himself.

"okay," calum said testingly, hoping he wasn't going insane. "you guys are, uh, real, aren't you?" "real as real can get. i'm luke, and this is my boyfriend michael. glad to be of service to ya'." luke said, curtseying with his tutu in his hands. when he looked over and saw michael holding in laughs, he elbowed him in the stomach. michael bowed.

"uh, hi. i'm calum." he said, still a bit unsure, but he decided to take their word for it. "now, why are you here?" michael and luke shared a few glances, luke fiddling with the hem of his nirvana shirt [yup i did. im so reference-y in this story. in the dark. i got the scars from tomorrow and i wish you could see that you're that antidote to everything except for me. i'll stop.] and michael biting his lip. finally, luke cleared his throat and began to talk.

"many reasons really. you were one of the most miserable children-" calum interrupted him. "i'm 16 years old." "i know. you're officially not a child at age 21. don't argue with it, trust me, i've tried. it's a bit awkward to tell a 20 year old you're their fairy godparent." he chuckled.

"anyway, you are abused by your sister, which is unknown by your mum. you had past abuse from your father, who's now in jail. your mum, joy, never has anytime for you, she drowns herself in work as an excuse to not have to deal with you and your sister. you are bullied at school. you never have any time to do your homework unless your sister isn't home, and lately, you stopped caring, so you're failing most of your classes. and that is why we're here. to bring happiness!"

luke finished, throwing his hands up in the air while michael used his stick thingy, which i'm guessing is a wand, to make a rainbow. calum stood there with a normal expression. what they said was all true, so he didn't object.

"two things. first off, you forgot that i never got to see my chemical romance in concert before they broke up as part of that list  you had going on there. and second, how did you guys get to be fairy gayparents anyway?" he asked. michael chuckled at his use of gayparents, but quickly stopped. luke had already done most of the talking, so michael decided to tell the rest of the story.

"one day, luke and i were driving to our shared apartment. you see, we didn't have a good life either. all we really had was each other. kind of like how you have pete and patrick. they're kind of like, your rocks." calum smiled at that. it was true. those idiots were his life.

"anyway, we were driving home. some idiot had decided that day that he would drive while he was high." luke took michael's hand in his own, rubbing his thumb over michael's knuckles encouragingly. he continued.

"he crashed into us, and we died on impact. i'm happy we died together though." he smiled. "so when we 'woke up', i guess you could say, we were in fairy world. they told us that since we didn't have the best lives, that we could help oher people as fairy godparents. we jumped at the chance. but there was something that they didn't tell us until after we had taken oath. that if we successfully helped someone's life improve, we would gain our human forms back and be able to be human again, and live."

calum's eyes widened. that was a lot to take in. "i, uh, i'm really sorry." "oh hun! don't be! nothing would change, really. we'd just have another friend." luke said, smiling widely at calum. michael smiled at him, too. calum knew he was going to like these two.

"so what do you guys do?" calum asked the smiley pair.

"we can grant wishes." michael answered simply, looking quite proud of their abilities. luke smiled at him, then looked at calum's awed face.

"don't get ahead of yourself, though. there are some important rules you're going to have to abide by." he said, and suddenly a big purple book appeared in the middle of the room. it said 'da' rules'. 'fun. a big book of rules.' calum thought.

luke began reciting rule after rule. "you cannot wish for money or for somebody to be injured or killed. you can't interfere or wish for love. you can't wish to win a competition, or for something to improve you and then go into a competition. you cannot tell anybody else of the existence of fairies. if this occurs, you and all witnesses' memories of fairies will be erased. you cannot-"

luke was interrupted by heavy footsteps on the stairs and an annoyed voice. "calum! you didn't do the dishes! are you talking to yourself?! loser!"

   mali.

all three boys' eyes widened and in a flash michael and luke poofed into fish in a fish tank on calum's bedside table. a split second after that calum's bedroom door was thrown open.

"what did i tell you?! if you don't do my dishes, you pay." and with that, she threw a punch to calum's face. [that escalated quickly 0.0]

calum didn't want to be abused by his sister, and he could easily overpower her. her hits and punches didn't even hurt that much. it only hurt when she burned him her used glass.

he just couldn't bring himself to fight back. mali was his sister. and calum just can't hit girls, it wouldn't feel right. about five minutes and a few bruises later, mali's phone ringing cuts her off. "you got lucky this time." she growled, stalking off to her room. "oh yeah, i'm leaving for the rest of the week. friend thing. not like you'd know what those are." she snickered. "do my dishes or i'll kill you."

and, with that, the front door was slammed and calum was left alone once again. well, sort of alone.

"ya' know what, we already know the rules. if you make a wish against the rules we'll tell you. no need to put you through all that. it's getting pretty late, too. do you have any homework due tomorrow?" luke asked. calum shook his head.

"we might as well hit the hay, then." michael said, stretching. "mikey." luke deadpanned, rolling his eyes. "hmm?" "we need to feed the child, you idiot." luke said, gesturing to calum, who raised his eyebrows amusedly. "oh , fine."

sure enough, a pizza box appeared on calum's bed.

"just tap on the glass if you need us." michael spoke, grabbing luke's hand and they transformed back into the fish like it was the easiest thing in the world.

calum didn't think he would ever be able to get used to them.
