As I was slowly trudging towards my apartment, I was reliving every moment during my first ever day at school. I found myself really thinking about the time when Marc suddenly came up to me and complimented me on my piano playing. Even as sincere as it sounded, it still sounded fake in a way. As if he wanted to gain my trust. I don't really like him, though.

I rummaged through my pocket for my little keys. After walking around my small apartment with an apple for a bit, I plonked down on my (small) bed to continue reading my book. I could've sworn I've only been reading for like, 5 minutes, but I've actually read for about an hour.

The time on the clock said 6:47 p.m.

I continued reading for another hour until my phone started ringing.

It was none other than Peyton Bennet.

"Hi," I said as I answered my phone.

"Hi! I'm sorry, again, that I had to leave."

"Oh, ok. Cool, but I have one question." I started.

"Shoot."

"How did you get my number?"

There was a silence at the other end of the phone.

"Promise you won't be mad, 'kay?"

"Depends." I replied back.

"Well, when you want to the washroom, I kind of snuck on your phone. BUT I WASN'T GOING TO ANYTHING BAD THOUGH! The only reason why I did that was to get your number, that's all."

OMG! MABEL! Don't ever leave your phone with someone or else they might find out about my secret identity. Stupid me...

"Did you see anything else?"

"Nope, just your number, I gotta go, I have to go do something.." She answered.

"Wait! When are you coming back, and why did you leave?" I questioned.

"Um, I wish I could tell you in full details, but let's just say, someone in my family is suffering from a sickness and I have to spend time with them before..." She stopped talking and started to cry.

"You don't have to finish that sentence... I understand I'll just try to survive school without you for a couple of days, or weeks."

"Thank you Evee, gosh, I'm so lucky to have a friend like you. I might come back in a month honestly. You don't know how close this person is to me. Anyway, I really have to go, I'll try to call you soon. Bye."

I stared at my phone, wondering what just happened. I wonder how I'll face tomorrow.

Beep, beep, beep.

That's my alarm clock.

It literally scared the everything out of me. Ugh, dang it, time to get up...

I aggressively threw my toast into the toaster, before taking it out and apologizing to it.

"Whoops, I'm so sorry toaster."

I apparently was still half asleep, because when I went to go get butter from the fridge, I threw my bread in the fridge. Oops.

I looked at my phone to check at the time.

"WHAT?! HOW?? It's already 8:19. I have to be at school in 11 minutes! HOW ON EARTH DID THIS HAPPEN?" I said as I stuffed my work that was all scattered on my bedroom floor inside of my poor bag.

"8:26, welp, no time for breakfast! GOTTA RUN!"

I walked outside of my apartment and noticed a shiny black car stopping near the building.
