Chapter 4 A Fake Smile

I wondered to the special spot in the forest by the cliff. I pushed tree branches while leaves crunched under my feet. I saw the little edge of the cliff and Mina, sitting on a log. As I came closer I realized the sad look she had on her face and the continuous murmuring. "Mina?" She suddenly turned around. "Oh I was just waiting here for you", Mina said, "Let's go! I still need to show you around town!" She grabbed my hand once again. Mina turned around and gave me a sweet smile. A sweet smile to distract me from the real one. A heart broken one. One chewed up and abandoned on the side of the road. Just like mine.

First she dragged me to a grocery store saying "This is where we get our groceries". "This is where we get our groceries" I imitated in a high-pitched voice quietly. "Hey I heard that," she punched my arm. I chuckled as she gave me a stern look. It was then softened as I began to laugh. Then into a full on Mina- giggle. Her cute giggle probaly brightened everyone's day.

We then headed to a bunch of stores taking a peek inside. We laughed and giggled lots as she gave me her "famous Mina tour". 

"I'll go grab some ice cream for us with my allowance" Mina told me. She ran off towards a shop with a giant ice cream cone model on top of it and a long line of waiting customers. I sat down waiting for her at a bench. 

I watched as she went up to the employee and started to ask for what she wanted. But was pushed to the ground. I watched as a group of three girls kick her to the side and order what they want. I feel fury inside me grow. 'I haven't killed someone in a while, now haven't I?' A scratchy voice inside me said. 

I watched as the girls got there ice cream handed to them. I ran over and knocked out of her hands with a little extra help. (Ooooooooooooo). "Hey, What was that for!" She yelled at me. Her tall figure stood right in front of me as she pushed me to the ground with Mina. The bully got ready to punch me while I was ready to deliver her a nasty treat, Mina stepped in front of me. My extra arms stopped before permeating through her. 

"Stop!" Mina yelled to the bullies and me. "Just, stop..." her face was down. I finally realized the bruises on her legs as I examined them. I also seemed to notice the tears that started to hit the pavement.

"What's with that new friend of yours! She needs to know her place!" The bully leader said. Her goons behind her just smirked in reply. "You do too" she smacked down Mina with her hand. Mina fell onto my lap as I set her down. She looked unconscious. Fury built up once again. All of a sudden my surroundings turned black. Everything was black. The next thing I see is the scared and petrified faces of the bullies. I look more towards the leader's arm and see nothing there.

Blood rolled down her stub of an arm and dropped upon the ground. I heard her whimper "Y-You-r a-a monster!" She ran away with her friends crying, probaly from the pain from when I removed her arm.

I picked up Mina as I saw her yes crack open. "It's ok..." I said softly. Her eyes shut and I continued carrying her to a safe spot. 

When I reached the spot by the cliff I sat her down against the log and waited for her to wake up. Minutes ticked by until her eyes once again opened.

"What am I doing here" she frantically said. "I-I took you here."  "But-but the bulli- I took care of them. No need to worry about them anymore" I assured her. I saw her face watch the sunset until a shocked one instead appeared. 

"Oh no! I'm going to be late going home!" She practically screamed. "Well I gotta go home. See yah". The last part didn't seem right. Her eyes once again lingered towards the sunset. Now stars seemed to group around it.

"Bye" she smiled. Again. I almost thought I saw a tear roll down her face. This smile, unlike the others, was different. It seemed to bring no happiness. It was a fake smile.

As I saw her leave when she turned her back to me I saw her eyes droop, her mouth quiver, and tears flood down her face. "Bye" She said in a shaking voice.

I wanted to call out for her and comfort her, but she ran away too fast for me to do so. I made a decision that night. A decision to change everything. I would follow her.

Wow. Drama~~~     I cant believe how long this chapter took me. It's sad but this book is almost over. But I can't wait for the next book! There will maybe be 2 more chapters and an epilogue. I may try to put out the epilogue on mother's day because it has a little relationship with it. U may know what that chapter will be about. The next chapter may be short though. Maybe even the last chapter. I don't know.
