Part 9

(Black Sheep's point of view)

Throughout the night I continue to baffle the police as to why someone would break into places with priceless items and cause havoc but never break or steal anything with the exception of the one caveman drawing, I listen to the plow of the sirens and I hear people calling my new name, they are calling me the Crimson Shadow, because I'm everywhere and nowhere at the same time just like a shadow, and they manage to catch a glimpse of my red hat, my little courtesy to them, should at least give them a back veiw of their so-called "prankster".

I retreat to the park taking my coat and hat off hiding it in a backpack I had swiped from one of the souvenir shops to my surprise There's someone by the tree that I planned to sleep by once more.

"Wilbert?!" He puts his hand over my mouth.

"Shh, be quiet their are police everywhere do you want to get caught?" he hissed under his breath, he took his hand off, and I took a step back.

"How did you?-" he cuts me off.

"I'll explain in the car I have it parked a couple of blocks away" I nod and follow him, once in the car he starts to speak.

"I'll try to explain this as quick as I can, basically I'm an allie to V.I.L.E, an investor if you well, I invest in Dr. Belums inventions and Countess Cleo's designs, as for the reason I knew it was you, not only did you wear a flashy color that I happen to know very well that I happen to know you enjoy wearing, you also mentioned a school with them, once this mess happened it was only logical you were behind this, the question though is why? Obviously this isn't V.I.L.E's doing, they steal not play around, your rebelling I want to know why, I promise I won't get involved if you don't want me to but I would like to I'm here for you and I want you to know that, besides it's not like I'll get in trouble for it from V.I.L.E as far as I know your just Carmen Sandiego."

I smile knowing I had an allie, but it quickly turned to a frown, this wasn't something I could talk about with him, especially after what happened.

"Oh got it you told him didn't you?" I shake my head

"No, but I might as well have, I don't think he would care not when-" I stay quiet. He stops the car and unbuckles his seat belt and pulls me into a hug.

"I'm so sorry Carmen, he doesn't deserve you, just know that you're better than him"

"I-" I stop speaking and just let him hug me, its what I really needed right know and I didn't care who it came from but I'm glad it was him, after a while, he lets go and hands me a tissue box.

"Never know when your gonna need them"

"Thanks," I said sniffling, and then wiping the tears out of the corner of my eyes. I unzip the backpack and take out the drawing.

"I guess you'll be wanting this back" He shrugged.

'Keep it no one's gonna miss it, I decided not to auction it off, you seemed really interested in it."

"Thanks"

"Thats what friends are for, know how about we head back to my place I'm sure V.I.L.E is looking for you and I'm guessing your not willing to go back just yet" I nod and we drive off.

"So what exactly do you plan to do when you do head back, your gonna be in a lot of trouble, I mean you kind of risked the entire organization on your little fun run around town" I chuckle, he always knew what to say to make me feel better, but on a more serious note he did have a point, what do I do?

"I guess I didn't really think about I was upset and I guess this is just my way of venting"

"I'm sure you'll be fine, you know your not the first graduate to be stationed here, two years ago they had a guy that was obsessed with flowers, I don't know what happened but one day after I guess he got ticked off he broke into a flower shop and took every single flower, the next morning he dumped every single petal off diffrent roofs all over town, I still have no idea how he manages to pull that off, though I have to say this is a bit more impressive."
