After her reunion with Eren, Mikasa's life was sounder than it was.

Sure, she was unfit to be a knight for she was female so she had to move out of the camp and thanked Erwin and Levi for their care.

Now, she lived in the city which was boisterous with trade and money.

She moved to the city few weeks ago, probably three. Of course, Erwin's manor did impress her but she feels relieved seeing the streetlamps that light up at night in the city.

Everything is all beautiful to her. She never seen the new things ever since she was stuck in the brothel. That place was a full nightmare and if Mikasa was to relive that, she would choose to take her own life rather than living in agony.

But something bothers her so much. She thought that it could only be the trauma of being into forced prostitution  but this reason was insufficient to her and to her mind.

Something was wrong and she was sure that she wouldn't like it, whatever it was.

Every morning, she could feel sickness stir in her stomach and she would always dread as she scurries her way to the bathroom.

It was one of those cliche in operas and whatnot. It was part of those dramas she sees in the theatres. It's happening to her and she does not like it.

For her, today was a day to treat herself so she decided to go to the theaters and mingle around the crowd and observe their emotions and actions since she has never seen something innocent for years for all she saw was lust, greed, sin, and torture.

She tried her best to not gawk on everything she sees that she has never seen before. She scooted through the crowds and avoided eye contact. She tried her best to hide her face with her hair as well. She did not her face to be seen it was because she looked different than everybody else.

Everybody else had light hair like brown, blonde, and red. As for her, she has really thick and black hair which was not a common trait in the place. Most people had light colored eyes too while she just sat there with her onyx eyes.

She felt inferior, she was outnumbered. No one shared the same traits as her and she was sure that she would look nothing like everybody else in the theater so she kept her head down and climbed up to the back row.

Then, she sat on the back row of the theater as she watched the female protagonist cry in agony upon learning the truth. Tears glistened down the cheeks of the actress as she posed in her misery.

Mikasa's eyes were fixed on the woman and everything that her eyes could see darkened except for where the woman has stood in melancholy.

The woman moaned and slapped her palm on her forehead, trying her best to portray the deeper and inner feelings of the character.

From the stage, Mikasa can hear the woman let out a small whimper.

"I..." The actress began reciting her lines. "What would the heavens think of me?" The actress wept and swept her gracious and lithe arm towards the stage for a dramatic effect. "I was..." She paused as she hiccups which started to anger Mikasa since the actress seemed to take forever to even just say a complete sentence.

Mikasa groaned loudly which earned a few glares from the people that sat at her row too. She whispered her apologies quickly as she turned back to the stage.

The actress was taking so long that some of the people onset were starting to yawn. An old man that was in front of Mikasa started to doze off and snored. She resisted the urge to giggle as she looked back to the actress.
