I sigh in relief, sliding off the stiff suit jacket. Finally home. We had been there for another two hours for the feast and so the higher members could talk about the vampires while the other members were lead to a separate room to socialize and talk about anything.
I had gotten to know Candace and Mady better. I found out Candace to be the younger out of the two but only by a few months. She's seventeen. Her full name is Candace Pennington. She likes to read, write, draw, dance, and sing. She said she has a few other hobbies but those are the main ones. She has seven siblings and two pairs of parents. She made it clear that her cat, Jack, is her princess. Mady is also seventeen. Her name is Mady McDowell. She's more of a writer, singer, dancer, and piano player. Her family is much smaller, containing two older brothers and two dads and one mother. She's more outgoing than Candace and often makes her thoughts out there.
The two had a brawl to entertain everyone. Mady was teasing Candace and Candace threatened to fight her. Mady told her to bring it on. Candace is a very small person and her wolf ended up being small too. Her wolf is silver with light brown streaks that are a tad bit hard to see. Her eyes remain that deep brown, almost black, color. Mady's wolf wasn't that much bigger. She was mostly light brown with a light gray underbelly and hazel eyes.
Mady was the first to strike, instantly going for the neck. Candace was able to dodge to the side quickly and nipped at Mady's side. Mady growled and they began to circle. Mady once again striked first, barely catching Candace's ear before lunging. Candace dodged and shifted so quickly, it looked painful. She jumped onto Mady's back, wrapping her arms around Mady's neck tightly. Mady began to buck, thrashing her head wildly. Mady managed to buck her off and Candace rolled away, shifting again as she did so. Mady took the chance to attack. Candace let out a vicious snarl, her eyes wild and she bit down on Mady's neck. Mady yelped and began to pull away. A little blood was drawn before Candace was pulled off by Gene, Micheal, and another man I had yet to meet. Mady shifted back, holding her neck that was bleeding. "Dude, what the hell?!", Candace shifted back once released and her eyes still had that wild gaze. Blood dripped off her chin and she quickly turned, walking away. Mady was instantly surrounded with people trying to help. I had approached as someone wiped at her neck with a handkerchief. "Hey, you alright?", Mady side eyed me and nodded slightly, hissing softly in pain. "It's not the first time she's lost it. She's depressed so her mood is up and down. I've learned to give her a moment to cool off before going to check on her."
Candace ended up apologizing to everyone and left early, tears spilling down her cheeks. Mady went with her.
I toss my shirt onto my bed, next to the jacket and tie. I start to undo my belt, entering the bathroom. I yawn, sliding the belt off.
I do my business and wash my hands before going back to my room, sliding down my pants. I toss the belt and pants onto the bed and go to my dresser, bending down to open the bottom drawer and grab a pair of plaid pajama pants. I slide them on and take off my socks, tossing them into my laundry basket. I go back to the suit and pick up the items, taking them to my wardrobe to hang them up. After I finish that, I go and turn off the light and crawl into bed, turning on my lamp. I pull the comforter over my legs and grab my laptop, along with a bottle of melatonin. I open the bottle after setting the laptop in my lap and take a pill. I set the bottle back on my night stand and open my laptop.
I enter my password and go to YouTube. Despite being rather old fashioned and traditional, we like to make sure we are still up to date with the century. It's a wreck but it's fun to watch.
My eyelids soon get heavy in the middle of a video and I close the tab before closing my laptop. I set it on the nightstand and turn off the lamp, laying down. This evening was rather long. Tomorrow will be too. Father wants me to meet this to-be-Alpha as soon as possible and she agreed to meet me tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also not. If I did agree to marry this girl, how soon would I? I'm still only in my junior year of school and plan on going to college. I exhale deeply and close my eyes. Might as well sleep on it.
