His hands shook as he held them over her frail body. White wisps of hair curled around her head and she gave the boy a small smile.
"There is nothing you can do, child," she whispered. "You must look onwards. Live out your life and forget me. Time has caught up to me and I must go."
The boy shook his head and sputtered through his tears, "No. You can't go yet. Wait. Please."
The old woman just shook her head and closed her sparkling eyes. With one final cough, a silver mist danced from her mouth. It circled the two people, shimmering in the light of dusk. As it rose to the skies, the woman's chest slowed to a stop.
"NO!" screamed the boy. He tried to force the magic from his hands, willing the woman back to life. It was hopeless. He was drained and she was already gone.
I might turn this one into a much longer story as it's own book. Let me know what y'all think I should do. Idek if anyone will read this but yeah
