I take my change and thank the cashier behind the counter. The air outside smells of wet pavement and I inhale a deep breath of it in. I begin walking in the direction back home with the milk in one hand and my satchel swung around my shoulder. I lift my hood over my head as it begins to drizzle slightly.

I think back to the conversation earlier about Nahee's possible crush. Could she really like Taehyung? They were spending an awful lot of time together at Jin's party. Maybe he likes her?

I let a sigh escape my mouth. It's not that I'm not happy about one of my best friends finally getting the guts to date, I guess I've just been feeling a little left out. Hana has started hanging out with Hobi more, Bea has started distancing herself again, and Nahee seems to be on her way to getting her first-ever boyfriend.

And I still can't manage to get a guy to even glance in my direction

I admit that I did purposely block myself off from everyone else when things with Wonbin went downhill, but for the most part, I've gotten over the whole thing. And if someone were to come along who loved me for me and was loyal no matter what, then I'd give it a shot.

However, the chances of me finding an actual decent guy to spend my time with who isn't dating me for a bet or only to get something from me is looking rather slim.

As I continue walking down the sidewalk, the rain starts to fall harder, and eventually, the water has soaked through my hood. I've been jogging towards home for about 5 minutes now, and I feel my socks get wet as well.

As my head is down, I hear a nearby car horn in the direction I'm heading towards and I look up. There's a red BMW pulling up to the curb of the sidewalk. My blood boils at who the driver most likely is as I slow down a bit to see. The window rolled down and I shake my head in disbelief.

"How long have you been in the rain?" He asks

"Doesn't matter. I'm almost home." I try to continue my on my way, but he puts the car in drive and speeds up to catch up to me. I sigh and cross my arms.

"Mirae, your house isn't another couple of blocks. It's pouring!" He gestures wildly to the rainfall.

"Let me give you a ride."

"No, Woobin!" His eyebrows widen as I raise my voice, "I'm not getting in that car with you."

"Why not? You're soaked."

I scoff, " 'Why not?' Woobin, I don't want you anywhere near me, I never wanted to see you again, and I made that very clear when we broke up."

"Can't you just let go of your pride for one second and just get in the car!"

"My pride? You show up in a neighborhood you live nowhere near in a fancy new car to show off. You were probably planning to run into me anyway to show me how rich you are."

Woobin's eyes go wide and a sheepish look comes upon his face. I scoff again.

"You were on your way to my house weren't you?"

"No! Well yes but I-"

"I knew it. Woobin, stay away from me. I'm serious. "

With that, I walk away from his car, he makes a noise of frustration and I hear him hit the wheel, but I smile gratefully as he makes a U-turn and drives in the opposite direction.
