'The concept of love is nothing but a forced standard. To rebel it is to be free.'The man found himself stumbling as usual in the early hours of the morning. Though he did have his glasses to form blurred images to become clear, that did not make up for the depiction of dark figures blending with a dark room and even darker walls. However, this was routine by now. He had memorized the steps it took to maneuver around furniture. Nothing short of a daily dance pattern by now.
Reaching the faint light of morning rays he opened the blinds widely revealing a bright, sunny day. The same view of pale houses, identical to his own were in view. And soon enough the roaring sound of a push mower started. As it always did, eleven o'clock am every Saturday. Like routine. And as always the male walked over to the bay window and slowly peeked through coffee colored blinds watching the boy next door.
Poe always had fascination with his neighbor, as it seemed to be the only person he had ever witnessed. Yet, he knew him not. Still it was nice to watch the other do his daily gardening and landscaping. His front yard always so colorful, so full compared to Poe's own. Compared to the rest of the neighborhood in fact. Poe did nothing more than imagine scenarios between the two and what they could discuss. As well as what the boy did in his free time. He had only seen him outside. He never left his own property—from his own observations.
As Poe fell deeper into his thoughts and curiosity the male caught glimpse of him. That was enough to bring him back to reality as his own eyes fluttered blinking like some sort of reset. With that he immediately shut his blinds with pursed lips falling into temporary embarrassment. He had enough manners to know that staring wasn't polite but he was more embarrassed of being caught. Sure he had been caught on a few occasions before but that didn't make the experience any less embarrassing.
He didn't want to focus on that feeling, so he went to common tasks to occupy himself. Such as breakfast. With the open blinds, it was enough to light up the whole room. Poe grabbed his backpack and made his way out the front door, walking out at quickened pace past the other's house. Head down to avoid any more awkward gazes.
AN: I hope this first chapter was somewhat entertaining. I apologize for how short it was. I'm an amateur writer and while I've started stories in the past I've always seemed to delete them after a couple days. I want this story to be different seeing as how the plot is something I'm proud of and have desire to improve my writing. With this being said feel free to leave criticism in the comments.
