Allison's POV

I woke up feeling extremely exhausted after a long night of studying for a test. It was strange to be hurled into a different life with new people, a new school, a new home after my mother's passing.

I'm always trying to forget the past, not letting my emotions engulf me. Sometimes it's too hard to hold everything inside me. I tried not to cry but I couldn't stop myself, all this was somehow too much for my damaged heart. I missed my old friends and the apartment we had in New York. This new house is too big and the school is too big and I felt so small. All these students and I haven't made a single friend, except Grayson. He was kind to me but maybe he had forgotten that he even met me yesterday. He probably already has a lot of friends to even bother speaking to me again. I cried even more thinking I might not make any friends.

My older brother came in to the room. "Good morning sis! Woah, what's up with you? Are you alright?" "Not really." I mumbled. "Tell me about it." He said. "I'm not in the mood Eric." I snapped. "Come on! You can't keep all your emotions to yourself or you're gonna explode." I let out a short laugh between the tears. "It's mom, I miss her and this new life just isn't for me." I sobbed. "Don't worry, I also miss mom, dad misses her too, we all miss her but I'm sure you'll get used to it here." He said, trying to calm me down. "Maybe."

Eric gave me a hug and disappeared from my room to go downstairs. I threw my head back on my pillow and let out a deep breath. I decided to get breakfast on the way to school, I wasn't in the mood for food right now.

I grabbed my car keys and went out the door. Day two, hopefully I'll make some friends. I started the car and put on my favorite song; Lost-Frank Ocean. I stopped at a random place that I thought looked nice. I walked in and ordered a coffee and a bagel. I then, made my way back to the car.

"Allison!" Someone yelled. I turned around to see Grayson with a coffee in his hand. He ran over to me. "So you know this place, huh?" He asked. I didn't really know what to say since I didn't know the city too well. "Um, no, not really. I just wanted coffee." I said nervously. Grayson looked at you and let out a laugh. "Well now you know this place, I go here everyday to get coffee before school." I had to admit the coffee was better than any coffee I've ever had in my life. Grayson cut me off in my thoughts. "I have to get my car but I'll se you later?" A question, answer quick. "U-uh sure." I  managed to say and made eye contact with him and he gave me a smile. The only thing I could think about on my way to my car was the awkward smile I gave in return. I'm so vapid and stiff. I shook my head at myself and drove off to school.

I walked to my locker and gripped my books and headed to class. I entered the classroom and saw Grayson in the back and I  took the seat next to him. "Hey." I said. "Hey Allison." He replied. He then shot me a look telling me the teacher had entered the classroom. I turned forward and tried to focus. I then felt Grayson staring at me constantly. I turned around to face Grayson's gaze. He smiled awkwardly and turned back to the presentation that was held.

By lunch it felt like I was about to collapse. My head hurt and I could barely keep my eyes open. I went to the cafeteria to get some food, that hopefully would make me feel better. Then it reminded me that I didn't have anywhere to sit. I scanned the room for an empty table when I saw Grayson waving at me. "Allison! Sit with us." He yelled across the room. I made my way to their table and sat down. "This is Allison, she's new here. Treat her well everyone." Grayson said with a finger in the air staring into everyone's eyes. He let out a laugh. "I think we have biology together." Someone said. The people at the table started speaking to me and I didn't know where to start. Grayson saw me almost panicking and cut everybody off. "Guys, chill for a bit, start with your names." He said. "This is Amy, Adam, Elena, Ethan, Derek, Isaac and me." He pointed at everyone and then himself. I laughed. "Hey." I said. I let out a sigh in relief, I had made some friends already and I didn't have to worry being alone for the whole semester.

The rest of the classes went by smoothly, it was almost like someone had sped up the time. The bell rang and the classroom emptied fast. I was walking down the hall to find the library to pick up a few books before heading home.

The library was very disorganized and filthy, but I grabbed the books I had in mind, that I could find and went to my car. I was about to drive home when I heard screaming further down the parking lot. "What the hell was that." I said to myself.

I took a deep breath and decided to see what was going on.
