goodnight dec

before he got out of his car, he decided to go to ant's house rather than just text him. he was there in a good amount of time and he was debating whether or not to get out and go knock on the door.

he didn't want to disturb him if he was sleeping, but he also didn't want him to be worried. what felt like hours passed and dec had finally gotten out of his car and was not standing on ant's porch.

he knocked lightly, but not lightly enough that it wasn't heard. when he didn't get a response, he rung the doorbell and the door opened slightly. a tired ant appeared in the cracked door.

"anthony?"

ant recognized that sweet, melodic voice. he rubbed the tirednes out of his eyes and invited dec inside.

"what are you doing here? what time is it?"

"it's 12:30 in the morning. i just thought that i would come over and explain why i hadn't answered your messages, rather than just sent a plain message back."

dec and his teacher stood in a comfortable silence. they didn't even realise that they had been stood for 5 minutes without saying a word.

ant broke the silence with a simple question: "do you want to stay the night?"

of course dec blushed as always, but he didn't know what to say. he had no clue what to do except stand there.

"declan? helloo? are you in there?"

ant waved his hand in front of dec's face trying to get him back to earth. dec rapidly blinked and rephrased his question.

"would i like to spend the night? well, ah, that's a very good question. yep, very good in deed."

"so is that a no?"

dec chuckled, "i didn't say that."

"so a yes?"
