I got to school the next morning and Elena was already at her locker. I walk over to where our lockers are located and wait for her to say something.

"You called me last night." So she saw that I called and didn't pick up? I thought she liked me back. Maybe she just wants to be friends with.

"Yes, I did." I look at her expectantly. She closes her locker, having all of her books out, and walks a little bit closer to me. That seems to be our thing. Whenever we talk, we get really close.

"Why?" she wonders. I blush a little and just stare at her. She raises her eyebrows at me.

"Well why didn't you pick up?" I wonder back.

"I asked you first." She has a small smile and keeps her bright blue eyes on mine. If we ever had kids, the would have damn good eyes.

"I asked you second," I state. I want he to tell me already. If she saw my call, she should've picked it up.

"Let's just not tell each other then. You don't want to tell me and I don't want to tell you." What??? I need to know!

"Fine. Maybe another time, then, yeah?" I ask. I really want to know. UGH!

"Maybe, Luke. Just maybe." She smiles again which surprises me because she never really doesn't seem like the type to smile very often. "Anyways, I was wondering if you would walk me home. My friend is supposed to drive me home, but she's not here today. I only live a little ways away, but I'm not totally sure where I'm going." Well, once I walk her home, my house is only like a 10 minute walk from school. She just asked me to walk her home. This gorgeous, annoyingly cute girl just asked me to walk her home.

"Yeah, I would be honored to walk you home," I joke. She smiles again, an even bigger than before.

"Cool, so I'll see you in class then. Bye, Luke." She turns and walks to her first class without looking back at me once. She's perfect.

"Hey, man." Calum walks up behind me. "Were you just talking to Elena?" Oh shit. I don't want to lie, but is it okay that I talk to her? Probably not.

"Listen, Cal. I'm sorry. I know you called dibs, but I really like her. She's everything I have ever imagined in a girl and then some. Please let me talk to her," I plead. Calum giggles while he opens his locker. I look at him in astonishment. He's actually giggling.

"It's not a big deal. Seriously, she has barely said a word to me since coming here. If she's into you, I'm not gonna stop my best friend from getting the girl of his dreams." That was so much easier than I thought. I had no idea he would be so cool about this. I knew there was a reason I chose him for a best friend. But, I don't know if she's actually into me.

"How do I know if she likes me?" I ask Calum in a worried way. I didn't mean to come off as worried, but I really like her. I can feel something special when she's around, though maybe it's a boner just because she's hot.

"I can't really help you. The few relationships I've had were a lo less complicate than this." I nod in understanding. This is so confusing!

Elena comes running back over by us. She stands in front of me and gives a nice glare towards Calum. She's signaling she wants him to go away.

Calum looks at me and pats me I the back. "I'll see you later, man." He walks away and I can see he's holding in a huge smirk. He's gonna pretend he's some kind of matchmaker now.

"What's up?" I ask like a dork. I hope she can't tell I'm really uncomfortable when she's around.

"I was just wondering if you had the math homework for tomorrow. I totally zoned out in class." That wasn't what I expected her to say. I was hoping she was going to confess her feelings for me, but nope. Luke Hemmings will forever be alone, with exception of dorky friends and a hot girl friend. Not a girlfriend, a girl friend.
