Levi sighed with relief as the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day. He had spent his entire lunch period making a list of kids who made the soccer team and what position he suggested that they should play. He felt bad not accepting them all for the team, but he knew that Erwin would be pissed if he accepted more players than there were openings.

He walked quickly to his locker and shoved his books inside. His locker was impossibly neat and clean, with everything organized by color, size, and class. He liked things orderly, and got plenty of shit about it from Hanji. It was easy for her to say; her locker was chock-full of random shit that doesn’t belong in a locker. Levi could’ve sworn he’d found a dead rat in there once. It certainly smelled like it.

Levi felt a light tap on his shoulder and he turned around to see an excited Eren. Armin stood next to him and was in the process of pulling his blonde hair back into a ponytail. Levi shut his locker and spoke to the boys. “What do you want?” He tried to sound irritated, but he was honestly happy that Eren came to see him after school.

“We should walk to practice together.” Eren offered a small smile and matched his pace to Levi’s as they walked down the hall to the locker rooms.

“Whatever.” Levi was secretly appreciative of the bratty freshman. “Erwin and Aurou had better be at practice today, that’s all I’m saying.” He didn’t think that he could stand another day alone with a group of energetic freshman.

Armin answered, “I saw Aurou today in Advanced Business, and Erwin came in sometime after fourth hour.”

Levi started. “You’re in AP Business?” He stared unbelievingly at Armin.

Armin exchanged an uncomfortable glance with Eren. “Yea.” The three of them walked into the locker room and changed into their practice uniforms. Eren kept looking up at Levi and blushing, which, mind you, was extremely fucking distracting for the senior. He could barely put together a cohesive sentence when the Jaeger boy stared at him from his heavily lashed eyes. Levi stared back at Eren, giving up on ignoring him. Their eyes locked and Levi searched Eren’s, wondering what the freshman was thinking about.

Levi realized Armin was looking at them strangely and he broke eye contact with Eren. “That’s fucking crazy, Armin.” Levi replied, genuinely interested. “You’re a freshman and even seniors have a hard time in that class.”

Eren spoke for his friend. “He’s just a bloody genius.” He grinned and elbowed Armin playfully. Armin blushed and shook his head, too embarrassed to answer.

“I believe it.” Levi smiled encouragingly at Armin, who gave him a look of gratitude. “Let’s get going, yeah? We don’t want to be late.” He straightened and left the locker room, Eren and Armin in tow. Levi didn’t bother to check the storage room to see if Jean and the others remembered to grab the equipment. If they forgot it again, there was no way in hell that Levi was going to get it for them. The stubborn fools would need to learn how to do their own shit without having Levi babysit them every step of the way.

The three of them walked out of the school and across the grounds, jogging across the soccer field to where the rest of the team was already waiting for them. Luckily for Jean, he had remembered to bring the soccer balls and other equipment. He and Marco were sitting on the bag of soccer balls together, holding hands. Marco whispered something into Jean’s ear and he blushed furiously. Jean smirked and turned to plant a kiss on Marco’s cheek, mumbling something indiscernible.

Eren walked up to them and sat himself on Marco’s lap, ignoring Jean’s extremely pissed-off reaction. “Say, horse-face, how about you get off your boyfriend for a second and focus on practice?” Eren said, sarcastically pleasant. Marco laughed and blushed, glancing at Jean, who pushed Eren off of his boyfriend’s lap.
