Emma Derrick
I decided to take a stroll through the town square. It was a very hot day today; I was surprised that there wasn't more people than there were outside today. The sky was filled with gas clouds. There was an orange tint on the gas clouds; I knew it was just the sun trying to break through. Seeing the sun was rare, it was like an eclipse.
"Give those back! They're mine!" A young feminine voice squeaked.
"Give me your ring!... or I'll kill you!" A man with a gruesome, gravelly voice roared at the woman.
I rushed over to the scene to see what was going on. "What the hell is going on?" I asked.
"Move our the way! Who do you think you are? The queen of the world? With your fancy outfit, sparkly makeup."
"I am the duchess;" I told the man, then pulled my knife out from my belt that was being concealed by my jacket. I stabbed the man until he died. I showed no mercy for him. "Take all of his belongings," I told the woman, and then continued to stroll along.
I went to visit an old friend of mine; his name is Sal. He owns my favorite sandwich shop, called Portelli's. I saw every seat was taken up outside the shop. When I entered the sandwich shop I saw that there was people at every table in the shop, every single seat was taken inside an outside the shop. On my way to the counter Jack cane up behind me to give me a surprise hug. "Hello Jack! How have you been. I see this place is still busy."
Jack smiled and spoke in a very soft tone; "yeah..."
I interrupted jack, because he seemed like he needed time to think about what to say. "Where's Leone?" I asked Jack.
"Leone... is reading.."
"Oh... so he's letting you and daddy do all the hard work I see."
"Yeah..." Jack said then he continued delivering sandwiches to people who were sitting outside the shop.
"The Duchess is here! I wasn't expecting you today," Sal spoke full of enthusiasm, as he exited from the backroom. I was wondering where he was hiding.
"Sal... you know me too well to call me Duchess," I told Sal.
"Yes, my d- Emma... have you seen the kids yet?"
"Yeah Jack is a very hard-worker... how about this. You make me a sandwich, and I'll serve you a delicious feast tonight at seven," I proposed.
"All you want is a sandwich. And in return you're gonna give me a five star feast? Well today must be my lucky day." Sal smirked at me, then started preparing me a sandwich.
I wanted to make sure the feast was perfect for Sal and his lovely family. I decorated the house to make it look more welcoming. I always want guests to feel welcomed. Polly just finished roasting the turkey, and that was the last thing that needed to be cooked.
"Duchess... you have visitors." My one house guard whispered in my ear.
"Let them in, and guide them to the dinning room," I told the guard.
Sal entered the room with his wife and kids. I had completely forgotten that Sal was married. I emphatically welcomed Sal and his family with genialness. Sal and his family were seated in our finest dinning chairs. The chairs were rosewood, with bright cherry red cushioning. The chairs matched the table, and the table matched the rosewood walls, and mahogany carpeting.
